Abstract

Following the `Poseidon boom' of the early-1970s, there was pressure for development of a national body of company law and for the introduction and development of legislation to regulate the securities industry, including the Stock Exchange, trading in securities and securities dealers and advisers.After 20 years, the Corporations Law emerged in effect as Commonwealth legislation implemented automatically by the States.
