Abstract

Fortescue Metals Group Ltd Iron Bridge (IB) operation is a magnetite deposit located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia situated around 145 km south of Port Hedland. This Mesoarchean deposit belongs to the 3230 Ma Pincunah banded-iron formations (BIF), a member of the Kangaroo Caves Formation, Sulfur Springs Group (van Kranendonk, 2000).
