Abstract

Falling timber in BC has always been a hazardous job. Huge, often rotting trees and steep, rugged terrain combine to create difficult and dangerous conditions. Death and injury rates are among the highest of any occupation in North America. In BC, the men that head out, saw in hand, are called fallers.
