Abstract
At present sane man-made Improvements and natural features are constraints on unlimited underground mining. 7 hey will continue to remain, as constraints on the future high production mining systems as wall. Unless these constraints are overacTe by research, where possible, future high production systems may became unacceptable. 7 he areas of future research include improved subsidence prediction techniques applicable to future mining systems, subsurface subsidence behaviour, mining systems capable of producing no surface subsidence and subsidence damage assessment.
