Abstract
D. F. Lascelles (School of Earth Sciences, MacQuarie University, North Ryde, N. S. W., Australia)- The paper contains many misconceptions commonly held by both geologists and soil scientists with regard to soil processes. The analogy between supergene copper enrichment and "nickel laterite" deposits is quite apt and the use of nomenclature from the former in describing supergene nickel deposits is justified.
