Abstract

The Key Issues - An Overview Minerals industry needs Mining companies want technologies which are ò cost-effective, ò high likelihood of delivery (ie transfer existing technologies from other industries), ò highly useable, ò an evolutionary rather than revolutionary approach, and ò to be developed in partnership with the mine, supply groups and researchers, For example, `soft' systems for information collection to better manage the mining process rather than mechanical systems.
