Abstract

THE work that is being done by the Government to reduce the dangers of mining was brought out strikingly in the First National Mine-Safety Demonstration which occurred at Pittsburgh, Pa., on October 30th and 31st, under the auspices of the United States Bureau of Mines with the assistance of the American National Red Cross Society and the Pittsburgh Coal Operators’ Association.
