Abstract

Large capacity flotation cells with volumes ranging in size from 300 to 2000 cu ft are used in the Opemiska concentrator, Opemiska Copper Mines (Quebec), Canada. This paper gives a description of the flowsheet with metallurgical comparisons using Maxwell vs. conventional cells, total power consumption used, and estimated maintenance costs.
