Abstract
US 4,181,588 - Direct extraction of lead from lead sulflde ore. Ore is leached with a solution of ferric chloride and sodium chloride. The leach liquor is filtered to remove sulfur and gangue, then cooled in a crystallizer to precipitate lead chloride The slurry from the crystallizer is subjected to electrolysis to deposit lead chloride on the cathode plate. Solution from the electrolysis cell is used in the leaching step. M.M. Wong and F.P. Haver, assigned to US Secretary of the Interior Jan 1, 1980. 6 pp. (204-115). Filed: 1-4-79 (1,026).
