Abstract

This paper presents a modelling tool that can be used to predict the behaviour of solvent extraction processes. In particular, this model allows calculating metal extraction efficiency as a function of pH, solvent flowrate, stripping flowrate and aqueous feed flowrate in the mixers-settlers. This model is applied to the recovery of cobalt from acidic chloride media by using CYANEX® 272 as extractant diluted in kerosene. Keywords: Cobalt, mixer-settler, modelling, solvent extraction
