Abstract

The use of advanced modelling techniques and the timing flexibility of electronic initiation systems allows for unprecedented control over blast outcomes as shown in several complex blasting problems experienced by the open pit operation Xstrata Ernest Henry Mine (EHM) in north-west Queensland, Australia.
