Abstract

Resource management is a key factor in the operation of a successful marine aggregates business; it is integral to the development of sustainability, satisfying increasing commercial, quality, and environmental performance standards. Resource management is based on the combination of; (i) a thorough evaluation and understanding of the resources on the sea bed and (ii) a dredging plan targeted to permit the effective and efficient extraction of the resources whilst mitigating impacts and leaving the sea bed ready for recolonisation.
