Selection of drying and calcining systems - an overview

Pyroprocessing applications in the minerals industry range from low-temperature drying to high-temperature reactions. Material characteristics and process requirements range over a very broad spectrum and can confuse plant engineers trying to select a pyroprocessirtg system for their plant. This paper examines the important process variables and offers empirical guidelines to assist in a user's overall process evaluation.
