Abstract

"Air-decking has been used frequently in blasting for many decades. It has been asserted that an air-deckcan alleviate excessive shock pressure from the detonation of a charge thereby producing better energy distribution in a blast overburden, for example. Research on air-decking has been active and various theories have been postulated that mostly support the effectiveness of air-decking for improved blast efficiency."
