Abstract
The overall approach to nonmetallic mineral flotation practiced in the laboratories of the Mines Branch, Ottawa, Canada, is outlined. The use of floatability tests to indicate possible areas of selectivity is indicated. Selected examples of the evolution of flotation systems are presented. Reagents are briefly discussed.
