Abstract

The paper presents the modeling and analysis of oxidation of pyrite copper-zinc ore samples from the Letnee, Yaman-Kasy and Valentorskoye deposits. It is found, that the oxidized samples contain copper and zinc sulfates that are leached under the sample and water contact. It is shown, that sulfide floatability is decreased by the longer-term oxidation. We advise to improve nonferrous metals recovery by joint leaching and ultrasonic treatment of oxidized compounds. Study of the geotechnological processes of non-ferrous metal extraction, on the basis of two copper-zinc ore deposits shows, that heap leaching is of little use for the ores of the Letnee deposit. Leaching results for the Yaman-Kasy ore showed more promise.
