Abstract
ZINC has been considered an ideal material for investigations of the behavior of dislocation walls in metals. It has appeared particularly useful for studies of the mechanisms of plastic deformation and the motion of low-angle boundaries under stress, because orientated crystals are easily grown and cleaved. Moreover, the hexagonal structure makes the introduction of controlled tilt boundaries relatively simple.
