The Ballarat East Project

The paper outlines the philosophies and the methods applied to resource estimation by North Flinders Mines Limited at The Granites. These are based on recognition of the prime importance of quality data, accurate geological perception of the deposit, and the judgement of the estimator. With reference to one particular deposit, East Bullakitchie, the series of resources statements published over a 5 year period is compared with the corresponding history of discovery and development.
