Abstract
The transformation of Peru’s Tintaya copper project from a state-owned company to a private company is under way and the results have been successful. Since Magma Copper Co. assumed operating management in December 1994, production and costs have improved dramatically. To understand the transformation of Tintaya, the transformation of Magma Copper must also be understood.
