Abstract

Transport phenomena, that is heat transfer, mass transfer and fluid flow, play a critical part in the operation of metallurgical reactors. In this paper, we shall present a review of our current state of ability to model these systems mathematically, with emphasis on the use of computational codes that are generally accessible to the public and on the comparison of the theoretical predictions with measurements.
