Abstract

One of the Authors was recently retained to provide a professional engineering analysis of the potential impacts from underwater blasts used to enlarge intake tunnels at the Cheesman Dam near Denver in Colorado and to design Blast Protection Bags that could be installed in each tunnel to protect the 100- year old downstream valve structures.
