Isometrical drawing and clinographic projection are generally preferred to perspective drawings for representation of small objects or complicated mechanisms, as they present to the eye a sufficiently accurate picture of the object, while they possess great advantages over perspective in the simplicity and rapidity of execution, and the facility they give for taking measurements directly from the drawings.

Through the remainder of this century, world consumption of fluorine per ton of primary aluminum produced will continue to be substantially reduced. Growth of the primary industry will offset some of the unit consumption, but demand for new fluorine sources will decline sharply. Continued application of dry fume scrubbing systems will be the most significant factor in reducing demand.

The effects of capital, operating and debt cost variations on project performance criteria are examined using a theoretical model and an actual case history. On an after-tax basis, financial measurements are found to be most sensitive to operating cost changes, somewhat sensitive to reasonable changes in capital costs and relatively insensitive to interest rate fluctuations.

Recently the Colorado Engineering Council was formed "to coördinate the work of various technical, scientific, and engineering organizations, promote the welfare and professional standing of their members, and foster a more general recognition of the engineer in civic matters." Samuel Thomas Wellman, of Cleveland, Ohio, prominent in the iron industry on the Great Lakes, died suddenly of heart disease at Kennebago, Me., July 11. He was on his way to the camps of the Megantic Fish and Game Association .of which he was a member, when stricken. He was one of the founders and directors of the Wellman-Seaver-Morgan Co., of Cleveland.

This paper presents two tentative models of the use of a notional metal in a country like Britian, which have been developed using the System Dynamics modelling method. Computer simulations have been carried out using one of the models.
