Many mine accidents will affect the mine ventilation system when they occur. At present, there is a lack of monitoring means to capture the occurrence of accidents in time by monitoring the ventilation system, so as to take emergency measures to reduce the loss of personnel and property. Pressure wave is an elastic wave existing in air. Most accidents in mine will cause obvious changes of pressure wave. It is an innovative idea to monitor the occurrence of accidents in mine by measuring pressure wave. The development and functions of the pressure monitoring device and related software are introduced in detail. The pressure wave monitoring test is carried out in San Xavier underground mining laboratory, and the D-wave and S-wave waveform data are collected. The waveform characteristics are analysed, and the main frequency distribution of the pressure wave is found to be within 1 Hz by using FFT. At the same time, the influence of the propagation distance of the pressure wave on the waveform is analysed. The propagation velocity of D-wave and S-wave are roughly calculated, and they are 279.6 m/s and 397.3 m/s respectively. S-wave is slightly faster than D-wave. Although there are errors and uncertainties in the test, the test verified the feasibility of the existence and collection of pressure waves in the ventilation roadway, and provides a method for the future study of the propagation of pressure waves in the mine ventilation system.

In order to assess whether polysaccharide depressants are strongly or weakly and reversibly bound to the surface of talc, a series of experiments was conducted on New York talc in which the floatability of the talc in a microflotation cell was determined. The talc was conditioned in solutions of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) or guar gum in 10-2 ionic strength Ca(NO3)2 or Mg(NO3)2. The talc was then washed with four successive aliquots of water, or cation solution, to try to remove the polymer and the flotation response of the talc was assessed. CMCs of different charge (DS) were used to assess the effect of charge on the strength of bonding. The results show that CMC and guar gum could be removed to a large extent from the talc surface by washing with water (the floatability was restored), however very little could be removed from the surface by washing with cation solution. The higher charge CMC was easier to remove from the talc planes in the absence of cations than the lower charge CMC. Thus CMC bonding to talc has been shown to be irreversible or very slowly reversible only if cations are present, implying that cations are necessary to keep the polymer bound to the surface of the planes to effect depression. The presence of ions in solution also had the effect of maintaining surface coverage of the talc by guar gum.

The anticipated economic life of the mine, which defines the rate of mine production, is dictated initially by the design capacity of the mill/concentrator and the production capacity of the mine relative to the grade and tonnage of ore that can be encompassed by the pit design. A small pit will result in smaller investment and cash flow; in contrast, a larger size of pit will increase capital investment and annual revenue. Since open pit mine design and long-term production sequencing are essentially based on three-dimensional block models, changes in block dimensions leads to different mine sizes, and therefore changes in the mine life. The physical characteristics of the deposit, such as reserve tonnage and ore grade, affect the expected future revenues from the mining project, and consequently they affect the life of the mine. Large blocks will increase the recoverable ore reserves and production rates and hence increase the mine life. This paper discusses the effects of the block dimension on the commercial ore reserve, grade-tonnage curve and its effect on the production rate, ultimate pit size, mining cost and consequently the mine life. The result shows that block height is the most effective parameter governing the economical life of the mine.

The Kempfield deposit is located in the Hill End Trough, one of several intracratonic basins developed during Silurian–Devonian time, in the eastern province of the Lachlan Orogen, Eastern Australia.The deposit contains an oxide resource of 5.8 Mt @ 58 g/t Ag and a sulfide resource of 14.4 Mt @ 45 g/t Ag, 1.7 per cent Zn and 0.6 per cent Pb, classified and reported in compliance with the JORC Code. The deposit has been previously explored by a number of companies, including INCO, Shell, Jones Mining, Golden Cross Resources and recently Argent Minerals Ltd (Argent). Argent is currently completing a definitive feasibility study with a view to mining the deposit.The deposit is hosted at the boundary between the Molong High to the west, comprising Ordovician sediments and volcanic rocks and the Hill End Trough to the east, interpreted as a back-arc basin containing Silurian sediments and siliceous-feldspathic volcanic rocks. The boundary between these two strato tectonic units is an imbricate thrust fault zone known as the Copperhannia Thrust.The Kempfield deposit is hosted in felsic volcanic rocks known as the Kangaloolah Volcanics. These have been in-faulted and folded into the Middle Ordovician meta-sediments of the Coombing Formation of metasediments along the Copperhannia Thrust. The Kangaloolah Volcanics belong to the Late Silurian Mumbil Group, comprising submarine carbonate-shale facies interspersed with extensive felsic volcanic piles, which grade conformably upwards into turbiditic sandstone and siltstone sequences (interpreted to represent a deeper depositional environment). These turbiditic rocks are known as the Campbells Formation, comprising siltstone, sandstone and andesitic tuff. The rocks at Kempfield are metamorphosed to lower greenschist facies, reflected through the different type of schists.Silver, gold, lead, zinc mineralisation is hosted in barite-rich horizons, near the boundary to quartz-phyric tuffaceous rocks in submarine, immature, reworked felsic ash tuffs. Barite appears to be hosted in greatest concentrations by the coarser grained volcanoclastic sandstones and grits, whilst intercalated siltstones are volumetrically minor and tend to return low barite and silver. Mineralisation is hosted in stratiform and probably stratabound barite-rich horizons. A northeast-trending, steeply dipping, metamorphic cleavage (S1) occurs throughout the project area.

The old Trekelano mining area is situated in the Cloncurry Gold and Mineral Field 14 km east-south-east of Duchess. It connected with the main Cloncurry-Dajarra railway line by a private line from Juenburra, a distance of 10 km. The distance by rail from Townsville is 561 km. The area was first mentioned circa 1902 - 1903 when a very short report said, that a Tony Allis had taken a parcel of copper ore out of a mine which, he called æThe InheritedÆ. After that report, nothing further was printed until about 1906, when traces of copper were noticed on a wagon track going to Kiama Well. The Trekelano deposit did not outcrop, with the cap covered by about two metres of soil. The deposit was named after an early pastoral holding. The early prospectors were however disappointed by TrekelanoÆs low copper grades, approximately five per cent Cu. This is understandable when, in those days, about 25 per cent was the cut-off grade for mines in the district. Meanwhile, The Hampden Mining and Smelting Company were constructing a smelter to treat their sulphide ores at Kuradala that was replacing their high grade oxides ore. By about 1910, the Hampden Mining and Smelting Company was experiencing smelting problems, and needed suitable oxidised copper ore to blend with the Kuradala pyritic ore. Someone must have remembered the Trekelano low-grade oxides, resulting in agreement to mine and cart the ore to Duchess, from where it was railed to Hampden, as Kuradala was known at that time.

Many types of micro-organisms inhabit iron ore deposits contributing to biogenic formation and conversion of iron oxides and associated minerals. Bacteria such as Paenibacillus polymyxa are capable of significantly altering the surface chemical behaviour of iron ore minerals such as haematite, alumina, calcite and silica. Differing mineral surface affinities of bacterial cells and metabolic products such as proteins and polysaccharides can be utilised to induce their flotation or flocculation. Mineral-specific bioreagents such as proteins are generated when bacteria are grown in the presence of haematite, alumina, calcite and silica. Alumina-grown bacterial cells and proteins separated from such cells were found to be capable of separating alumina from haematite. Biodegradation of iron ore flotation collectors such as amines and oleates can be effectively utilised to achieve environmental control in iron ore processing mills.

Detrital iron deposits (‘DID’) in the Hamersley Province of Western Australia have been successfully mined and processed as small quantities of saleable standalone or blended lump and fine ore products over many decades. Despite their past, present, and potential future exploitation, they have received far less geological attention than the economically more significant higher grade bedded iron deposits (BID) or channel iron deposits (CID). DID are composed of Pliocene to Quaternary unconsolidated colluvial/alluvial hematite gravels with minor sand, silt, and ferruginous clay, as well as minor iron rich hematite clast conglomerates. DID mineralisation at Solomon has been subdivided into six distinct stratigraphic units, DID-5 (lowermost) to DID-0 (uppermost) based on differences in clast and matrix textures and mineralogy, degree of consolidation/lithification, particle size distribution and replacement textures. The most significant accumulations of DID-1 to DID-5 are in tributary valleys that have been cut through the Joffre Member of the Brockman Iron Formation on either side of the main Kings-Queens valley which contains the CID. DID-5 and DID-4 are ferruginous conglomerate, referred to as canga, with four subtypes recognised. DID-4 is composed of BID hematite clasts cemented by hematite or goethite. DID-5 is characterised by partial to complete replacement of BID hematite clasts and matrix by the yellow ochreous and brown to black vitreous forms of goethite. DID-3 to DID-0 are unconsolidated hematite detritals composed of largely (>80 weight per cent) fine to coarse gravel, minor sand and little silt or clay. The gravel clasts are largely composed of hematite and hydrohematite that replace BID, micro-nanoplaty hematite-martite-ochreous goethite (m-nplH-M-oG) BID, reworked canga, hematite pisoids, siliceous hematite BID (micro-nanoplaty hematite-martite-quartz, m-nplH-M-quartz), chert (~10–20 per cent) and minor (<5 per cent) Banded Iron Formation (BIF). Hematite abundance decreases from DID-3 to DID-0 whilst siliceous hematite BID is highest in abundance in DID-0 and lowest in DID-3. A key finding of the study is that >90 per cent of mineralised detrital clasts are derived from hypogene altered BID micro-nanoplaty hematite-martite with subsequent later supergene ochreous goethite mineralisation hosted by the Joffre Member. The DID genesis model entails interpreted Palaeoproterozoic siliceous hematite hypogene microplaty BID mineralisation of the Joffre Member undergoing Cenozoic supergene leaching of quartz and replacement by ochreous goethite to form low phosphorous BID micro-nanoplaty hematite-martite-ochreous goethite clasts. BID martitenanoplaty hematite-martite-ochreous goethite clasts and detritus eroded from hill slopes were deposited in the valleys as an initial single DID-5-DID-4 unit over a weathered pre-CID basal conglomerate. DID-5 and DID-4 underwent goethite cementation of the matrix followed by replacement by hydrohematite, hematite, and maghemite. DID-3 formed during subsequent periods of erosion of largely DID-4 hematite clasts and pisoids. Groundwater flow-through hematite canga resulted in partial to complete hydration replacement of DID-4 hematite clasts and matrix by ochreous and vitreous goethite to form DID-5. Deposition of DID-2 to DID-0 was via reworking and deposition of DID-5 to DID-4 canga and DID-3 as clasts and pisoids/ooids, as well as siliceous hematite and BIF sourced from the Joffre Member in the hill slopes.

A low-cost methodology that allows the determination of in situ stresses using oriented core specimens has been investigated. The technique can be used to determine the stresses during the early stages of a project, even in undeveloped areas of a mine. The research aim was to compare the experimental results estimated by the Acoustic Emission and Deformation Rate Analysis methods with those estimated by conventional Hollow Inclusion cell measurements. The studies have been focused on full stress tensor determination from a single oriented rock core. In all cases the rock core specimens recollected the in situ stresses reasonably well compared with the standard overcoring method.

In the ideal world of an underground mining engineer, all narrow vein orebodies would be perfectly straight and continuous, thus would be a dream to mine. However, this is usually not the case. Narrow vein orebodies generally occur in association with shear zones and while shear zones do form linear trends, they most commonly preserve undulating expressions that need to be closely monitored, particularly when overprinted by post-formed structures. The surge in mines using fibrecrete as a primary form of ground support effectively reduces the time available for geological interpretation down to a 30 minute window between bogging and shotcreting. Thus, if the quality of the data collected is not up to scratch, then there is only a limited ability to reassess using 2D face photographs. To negate this, Xstrata Nickel AustralasiaÆs Cosmos mine has upgraded its data collection procedure. Geological information is now collected using photogrammetry survey, producing 3D images of the drive. Once created, the digital image of the drive is loaded into Vulcan, thus enabling geological interpretation to be carried out along entire drives, between levels and in association with all other data (eg drill holes, seismic data, etc). In addition to this, the 3D image can be used to accurately model the location of the ore, enabling stoping panels to be confidently positioned to maximise grade and minimise dilution. However, with the focus at Cosmos changing from narrow vein mining, to bulk mining methods in a more geotechnically complex terrain, the use of the 3D images has become paramount in understanding the structural geometry. Continual interpretation of the data has enabled drive profiles to be maintained through the increased use of ground support in poor ground and the redesign of development to enable optimal intersection of structures. Nevertheless, while the collection of quality data is important, it is only the effective use of the data, which enables significant gains in understanding.CITATION:Rees, K, 2012. This paper presents an analysis of significant Australian-based R&D programs focussed on the minerals industry, which was commissioned by CRC ORE. The landscape analysis may assist organisations with R&D management issues including program creation, program/partner selection, portfolio management, and public policy settings. The dataset was collated early in 2020, and contains programs being conducted by or with Australian-based ‘Research Service Providers’ (RSPs), most notably Universities and CSIRO. It does not include R&D being conducted in-house by mining and METS companies, or by them with other organisations that are not RSP’s. The dataset contains 65 R&D programs, with total annual cash funding of $229m (70% from industry and 30% from government). The total funding compares unfavourably with the combined R&D expenditure of Australian universities and CSIRO of over $12b, and minerals industry export revenues of over $200b. The R&D landscape is analysed by program numbers and funding, technical domain, geography, and funding source. Areas of relative strength are noted in ‘mineral processing’, CSIRO Minerals, and the CRC program. Areas of relative weakness are noted in ‘bulk materials handling and logistics’, ‘tailings and waste management’, and ‘social and community’. The field of preconcentration is noted as a current area of R&D strength, but it is under significant threat with the impending completion of CRC ORE. The overall R&D landscape is characterised by a majority of small-scale programs, low levels of industry coordination, a low focus on step-change innovation, and total funding lower than should be expected for such a large critical industry. It is hoped that key stakeholders in the Australian minerals industry, particularly governments, and mining and METS companies, reflect on the analysis and act to address holistic weaknesses.

The Morning Star diorite dyke has been subjected to two periods of mineralization. The earlier, genetically related to the dyke magma, gave rise to a weak chalcopyrite-pyrrhotite-pentlandite-gold mineralization in a narrow zone, up to 25 cm. wide, which parallelsthe nearby western (hanging) wall of the dyke. Subsequently a set of conjugate shears formed in the dyke as a result of tectonic movements. Gold-quartz veins formed in these shears giving rise to the classical &quot;ladder veins&quot; of the Morning Star mine. On either side of the veins (&quot;floors&quot;) the diorite has been bleached for up to 3 ft. This involved introduction of much CO. and some K&quot;O, and S with abstraction of SiO. and FeO, giving rise to carbonates, sericite, zoisite and pyrite. The veins consist of quartz with minor amounts of albite and carbonate, together with pyrite, arsenopyrite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, tetrahedrite, galena, bournonite, boulangerite and gold. Spectrographic analyses of gold show that the suite of trace elements is consistent throughout the mine.INTRODUCTIONThe gold-quartz veins of the Morning Star Gold Mine, at Wood&apos;s Point, Victoria, are a classic example of the &quot;ladder vein&quot; type of deposit. The structure of this series of repeating quartz veins or &quot;floors&quot;, some barren and some productive, occurring in a set of conjugate shears which transect a &quot;dyke bulge&quot; of diorite (Fig. 1), has been described on numerous occasions as mining has progressed and figures in the textbooks (Whitelaw, 1905; 1916; Junner, 1920; Lindgren, 1933; McKinstry, 1935; 1942; 1949; Kenny, 1949; Hills, 1952; Clappison, 1953) ; but there has been no study of the mineralization apart from that in Junner&apos;s (1920) general study of the Walhalla-Wood&apos;s Point Goldfield, made at a time when mining had not developed below the 400 ft. level,. and the mine was dormant.

The Waterview Connection will complete a strategic Auckland motorway route linking the south, west and north. The project will include 2.1 km of ‘undrained’ driven tunnels, 500 m of drained cut-and-cover tunnel and tunnel portals.The project is aligned beneath a stream valley of Oakley Creek, which is incised through alluvium and in places overlain by landfill, between Mt Albert volcano and a ridge formed in alternating sandstones and siltstones. The resulting topography, geology and hydrogeology of the tunnel alignment are complex.The Assessment of Effects required estimation of the likely settlements resulting from the tunnel construction and assessment of their effects on the buildings, services and other features. A conservative approach was taken when estimating settlements in order to provide an upper bound estimate of the consequent effects. There are three sources of these settlements: mechanical settlement from the tunnel excavation, mechanical settlement from the displacement of retaining walls and consolidation settlement from the groundwater drawdowns during construction and, in some cases, in the long-term.The settlements from these sources were calculated independently and then combined to identify the most critical effects. These combined settlements were used to assess the potential damage to the buildings, services and other features above and around the tunnels. The combined settlement results generally followed the anticipated trough shape centred on the underlying tunnel but with some noticeable effects relating to the underlying geology and hydrogeology.The effects on buildings were typically assessed as negligible with some areas of very slight to moderate damage predicted. Effects on services are anticipated to be minor but some large and older pipes will require specific monitoring during construction. A monitoring programme is proposed to allow the actual settlement and effects to be compared to those estimated with appropriate responses should those effects significantly differ.This paper describes the methods used to calculate and combine the settlements and assess their effects.

Quay Magnesium Limited (QMG) listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in late September 2004 having raised approximately A$30 million with the object of designing, constructing, commissioning and operating a 15 000 tpa magnesium alloy production facility in Nanjing, China. Site construction commenced in February 2005, with installation of all major components completed by the end of October 2005. Hot commissioning was simultaneously commenced with the final stages of installation, leading to the first stage of continuous ingot casting by mid November 2005. Since that time, ramp-up to the name plate capacity has been undertaken. This presentation highlights some of the more significant technical and logistical hurdles that have had to be overcome in order to meet the high quality product specifications required by a range of QMG customers.

The Tampakan deposit is a strongly telescoped high-sulphidation-epithermal/ porphyry deposit pair which is hosted by a sequence of probable Pliocene age subaerial andesite flows. These host units lie on the western flank of a deeply dissected andesitic stratovolcano within the northernmost portion of the Sangihe Arc in southern Mindanao. The deposit was discovered by WMC geologists in 1992 and is currently undergoing resource evaluation. Preliminary resource estimations indicate a total inferred metal content of 12 million tonnes of copper metal and 16 million ounces of gold. Using a 0.2 per cent Cu cut-off grade, the deposit has a current mineral resource of approximately 2.5 billion tonnes with an estimated grade of 0.48 per cent copper. At a higher cut-off grade of 0.5 per cent Cu, the mineral resource is approximately 900 million tonnes with an estimated grade of 0.75 per cent copper. Mineralisation is open both to the west and at depth. The Tampakan district is centrally located with respect to a 100 km wide zone of left-lateral strike-slip deformation represented by the trans-Mindanao Cotabato Fault Zone. The district is transected by several WNW-striking wrench faults which represent strands of the regional Cotabato Fault Zone. High-sulphidation epithermal mineralisation within the Tampakan deposit is strongly controlled by NNE-trending faults which lie along a dilational orientation within the Pliocene stress field associated with the Cotabato strike-slip fault zone. The mineralisation is broadly hosted by a gently-dipping, tabular zone of partial to massive silicification which displays multi-phase brecciation, acid-leaching, related vuggy porosity and which is developed within a district-scale advanced-argillic and argillic lithocap exceeding 90 km 2 in area. High-sulphidation epithermal mineralisation is associated with a silica-pyrophyllite-dickite-alunite-diaspore¦sericite alteration assemblage which is transitional downward to sericite-chlorite alteration and relict potassic biotite-chlorite-magnetite-anhydrite alteration associated with pervasively developed but weakly mineralised porphyry quartz stockwork veins. The high-sulphidation mineralisation is dominated by disseminated, vein and vug-filling enargite-bornite-digenite-chalcocite-covellite ¦ molybdenite which has overprinted an earlier phase of porphyry copper stockwork veins associated with high-level porphyritic hornblende diorite stocks. The distribution of high-sulphidation alteration and mineralisation reflects strong stratigraphic and structural controls. The high-sulphidation mineralisation covers a surface area of approximately 1.6 km by 2.0 km and forms a tabular, flat-lying to gently-dipping body between 200 and 500 metres thick. It is intersected at RL-1200 m ASL (at surface) in the northern portion of the deposit and extends down to RL-600 m ASL at the southern end. The deposit has been diamond-drill tested to a depth of 400 - 500 metres where low-grade chalcopyrite-bornite-pyrite mineralisation is hosted by pervasive quartz stockwork veins. This deep-level mineralisation represents the outer portion of a porphyry Cu system hosted by both andesite flows and the uppermost portions of high-level hornblende diorite stocks. Deep drilling to test for higher tenor porphyry Cu mineralisation is planned.

The Dumont deposit is a large (1179 Mt reserve), low-grade (0.27 per cent nickel) nickel sulfide project located in the Abitibi region 25 km west of Amos, Quebec. Royal Nickel Corporation (RNC) acquired the project in 2007 and has since taken the deposit through to feasibility. The disseminated nickel sulfide and alloy mineralisation is hosted within the serpentinised dunite subzone of the Dumont Sill; a differentiated, pervasively serpentinised, ultramafic sill of komatiitic affinity. Pentlandite ((Ni,Fe)9S8), heazlewoodite (Ni3S2) and awaruite (Ni2.5Fe) are the dominant nickel-bearing metallic phases and can be recovered by conventional methods (flotation, magnetic separation). Non-recoverable nickel is also present within serpentine and olivine of the silicate matrix.A detailed mineralogical program including 1420 QEMSCAN« samples and 4400 electron microprobe points was undertaken to increase the understanding of the nickel deportment in the various recoverable and non-recoverable phases in a spatial context across the deposit. A total of 105 metallurgical tests have been performed under a standard procedure which have linked the mineralogy to metallurgical performance. This has allowed the creation and modelling of geometallurgical domains on a block-by-block basis to understand the recovery variation and metallurgical performance throughout the deposit. Understanding the spatial variability of Ni deportment in recoverable and non-recoverable phases through mineralogy is the key to understanding metallurgical performance, thus unlocking the value of the Dumont deposit and other large tonnage low-grade ultramafic nickel deposits.CITATION:Sciortino, M, Muinonen, J, Korczak, J and St-Jean, A, 2013. In mine site revegetation, exotic grasses are more commonly used than native grasses. This is due to unavailability of native grass seed on a commerical scale and lack of information on agronomical aspects of native grasses. This paper lists a number of native grass species that have the potential to grow well on mine sites, and provides some information on their seed collection, processing and germination. Further, it demonstrates via results of a field trial conducted at Ranger Mine spoil the relative performance of ten native grasses and Rhodes grass. It is concluded that (i) some native grasses have similar ability to grow on mine spoils compared to Rhodes grass and (ii) the use of native grasses have added advantages in ecosystem restoration.

In the decade after the first hole was drilled into Christmas Creek in mid-2004 a total of over 11 Bt of hematite-goethite mineralisation have been delineated supporting the raising of $13 B, construction of five mines, 620 km of rail and a five-berth port. As of June 2014, Fortescue was shipping at the rate of 155 Mt/a. The area including the Eliwana and Flying Fish deposits is one of a number of future growth opportunities that Fortescue is currently evaluating.The Eliwana and Flying Fish deposits occur on the south dipping limb of the Brockman Syncline/Jeerinah Anticline. The Eliwana group of deposits are hosted by the Brockman Iron Formation with the Flying Fish/Broadway group hosted by the Marra Mamba Iron Formation.Structurally the area is dominated by moderate southerly dips of the regional dome and keel style folding. The regional limb is locally cross-cut at a small angle by asymmetric north facing Ophthalmian folds trending 110&#176;. These fold sets, in part, preferentially host subsequent supergene mineralisation. Faulting is only locally apparent.Early phases of exploration commenced in 2006, with mapping of Flying Fish and reconnaissance drilling in 2007. However, due to the concurrent discovery (Clarke et al, 2009) and subsequent fast tracked development of Solomon channel iron deposit and Firetail bedded iron deposit (Simpson et al, 2011) priority was placed on developing Solomon due to its relative proximity to existing Fortescue infrastructure. Staged follow-up drilling of both Marra Mamba and Brockman targets at Eliwana was progressively undertaken from 2008 onward.As of 20 May 2014 a total of 1494 reverse circulation (RC) holes for 54 248 m and 13 diamond holes had been completed, resulting in the delineation of a Mineral Resource of 740 Mt. The arbitration process, and its drawbacks: Any time you have taken part in a major arbitration, and the decision, when it comes out, is not what you thought it would be (which is bound to happen occasionally), the normal reaction is something like æthe arbitrator got it wrongÆ. Again normally, when you have cooled down a bit, and you look in more detail at the decision, you can see, probably, æwhere he got it wrongÆ (it is only male arbitrators who get it wrong). Ultimately, when reason prevails, and you reflect on it, you can see that what really happened was that you failed to get the arbitrator to see what you were getting at in the point or points concerned. This is doubly frustrating, when you consider what has been involved in getting to this point, having been through it all at least twice. An alternative to this process may be the dispute review board.
