Glencore, in collaboration with Cascadia Scientific, conducted a study to improve the haul roads at the Antapaccay mining operation. The study utilized Cascadia's SmartRView platform for data collection, complemented by precise instrumentation installed on both Komatsu and Caterpillar haul trucks Antapaccay worked closely with Cascadia's Data Scientists,employing various statistical methods to analyze the data and identify potential enhancements to the haul road design. The study utilized Cascadia Scientific's heat mapping tool to identify road segments with high fuel intensity . As a result, four main road segments were identified for improvement.

The Rincon del Tigre (RdT) complex is one of South America’s largest and best-developed mafic-ultramafic layered intrusions. It is set in the SE Bolivian lowlands, about 50 km from the Brazilian border.The BGS (British Geological Survey) and GEOBOL (Servicio Geologico de Bolivia) carried out an initial investigation of the RdT complex from 1976 to 1986. In this sense, the paper point out the geology background of The Rincon del Tigre, economical potential, typical ore secuence in laterite nickle deposit and pega pega erosional surface (Oligocene).

The present study demonstrates the feasibility of the ultrafine grinding and atmospheric leaching process applied to refractory gold concentrates from Salave Project located in northern Spain. At bench scale, it was found acceptable sulfide oxidation was about 84-85% and CIL gold recoveries between 95-96% applying specific energy consumption between 30 and 60 kWh/t during ultrafine grinding. The atmospheric oxidation of the sulfide concentrate was controlled between pH 4.4 and 4.8 with a mixture 90/10 of CaCO3/NaCO3 with residence time of 48 hours for the atmospheric oxidation and 30 hours residence time for the CIL process.

For the last 20 years mine slopes have been monitored with slope stability radars. Since 2015 a group of dedicated geotechnical engineers dedicated to remotely monitor radars around the world have detected 2000+ slope failures of different characteristics. A statistical analysis of the information gathered of these failures have been made and the summarized results are presented with some degree of analysis appropriate for the vastness of the database. The analysis considers different types of commodities, countries, mining processes, rock types, and weather conditions.

El sistema presentado en este artículo actúa como un digestor al transformar las moléculas de carbono y otras sustancias en compuestos menos contaminantes. Se utilizó una mezcla de cianuro disuelto en agua como muestra de ensayo —procedente de aguas de una mina—, que se sometió al componente radiante de plasma, y se estudió la energía generada actuando sobre la purificación y transformación de las muestras.

As reserves of high-grade, easily accessible ores decline, it is becoming increasingly important to treat complex feeds and recover multiple target metals, and to identify approaches that will achieve this is a cost-effective manner. Hydrometallurgical treatment of sulphide based material allows for a balance between costs, recovery, and flexibility in final product selection. Glencore Technology’s hydrometallurgical solution to the treatment of sulphide ores is the Albion Process™, comprising two main steps. The first step involves ultra-fine grinding using the IsaMill™, which minimises the potential for passivation of the leaching sulphide and increases surface area for oxidation during the Albion Process™ leach. The second step is the oxidation of the finely ground sulphide concentrate utilising the HyperSparge™ for oxygen injection in Glencore Technology’s Oxidative Leach Reactors (OxiLeach™).

Flotation is the most used separation process worldwide. Flotation characterization is usually carried out in batch conditions at laboratory scale. A phenomenological description of the flotation process is challenging, however, the evaluation of flotation performance in a contextual manner by means of a pilot plant is beneficial to reduce uncertainty on metallurgical results. In addition, leveraging pilot plant results by digitalize them helps describe the process dynamically. Consequently, flotation pilot plant testing allows a Digital Twin (DT) to be generated by combining ore characteristics, process information and a digital architectural platform. Therefore, the generation of a Digital Twin of the flotation pilot plant provides a tool to explore and evaluate new operating scenarios. This allows an optimum scenario to be identified and scaled up (i.e., industrial operation).

El presente documento señala dos experiencias aplicadas en la mina Yanacocha y Pierina exitosas donde se emplea las geomallas como parte del mejoramiento de suelos blandos con la finalidad de distribuir uniformemente las cargas impartidas por los grandes equipos mineros hacia la subrasante de mina típicamente conformada por suelos con alto contenidos de limos y arcillas húmedas y saturadas. Asimismo, los beneficios obtenidos por usar las mallas, no se limitan al ahorro en costo material de relleno, sino que se logra un mejor desempeño- en tanto optimiza la superficie de circulación de los vehículos mineros, reduciendo los tiempos de operación, así como prolonga los períodos de reparación y mantenimiento.

A paper presented at Perumin 35 in 2022 described the concepts and a state-of-the-art system with extruded curbs and PVC anchor wings, adopted among others at the first four stages of Las Bambas tailings dam in Peru, discussing how upstream geomembrane water barriers can mitigate the numerous issues, including environmental aspects, of tailings dams’ design and operation. This paper, beside presenting a summary of what has been carried out so far at Las Bambas, amplifies the subject, presenting the results by means of the data of the leakage monitoring system, showing that the flow monitoring data at the downstream toe are seasonally consistent, and in alignment with design predictions.

"The paper point out the volcanogene and sediment-hosted base metal deposit from the Colombian cordilleras have been considered in the light of tectonogenic models for these deposit types, based upon the recent re-interpretation of the geology and tectonic assembly of the Northern Andean Block by Cediel and Cáceres and Cediel. Numerous distinct propitious metallogenic settings containing important but subexploredbase metal mineralisation are manifest as a result of the tectonic evolution of this northern-most sector of the Andes. Some examples include like a) Central African Cu (U) Belt - type mineralisation within the back-arc region of the early– middle Paleozoic Cordillerantype Quetame Orogeny, b) numerous SEDEX and Sediment-Hosted Zn (Pb-Ag) and Cu (Ag) styles of mineralisation associated with various phases of continental and continental margin rifting during the late Paleozoic to Mesozoic Bolívar Aulacogen, and c) various Cu-Zn-Pb (Au, Ag) Volcanogene Massive Sulphide manifestations associated with intra-oceanic magmatic arc development and accretionary tectonics during the Meso-Cenozoic Northern Andean Orogeny. It then discusses the two major developments in Australasian reporting standards in the last two years: the revision of the 1999 Code, and the introduction in early 2003 of the “ROPO” (Recognised Overseas Professional Organisation) initiative. The purpose of the JORC Code is to provide a minimum standard for reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves in Australasia, and to ensure that public reports on these matters contain all the information which investors and their advisers would reasonably require for the purpose of making a balanced judgement regarding the results and estimates being reported.

La intención del trabajo reportado en este artículo es la de superar las limitaciones que conlleva no trabajar con modelamiento previo, base de datos y un enfoque sistémico. En atención a esta idea, el estudio desarrolló un software para dos circuitos (directo e integral). Como resultado, se recomienda desarrollar un software integral de toda la planta concentradora —chancado, molienda, flotación y eliminación de agua— con diferentes tipos de circuito, en un solo sistema (enfoque holístico); además de migrar a un modelo de servicio en la nube, con el objeto de poder contar con completa disponibilidad.
