Se propone como solución el uso de un robot terrestre no tripulado capaz de desplazarse en superficies irregulares para la digitalización, inspección, y diagnóstico recurrente y seguro de la infraestructura de galerías subterráneas en minería.

This report looks at the application of Shaft Boring (SB) as an alternative methodology to conventional mechanized Drill and Blast (D&B), Shaft Sinking. Various Continuous Mechanized Shaft Sinking concepts, equipment and projects are also reviewed in this report. Their significance relates to designs and systems related to Shaft Boring. Shaft Boring is increasingly a method considered for the excavation of deep and increasingly large diameter shafts for mines in hard rock. Many methods have been used as an alternative for D&B Shaft Sinking.

For the last 20 years mine slopes have been monitored with slope stability radars. Since 2015 a group of dedicated geotechnical engineers dedicated to remotely monitor radars around the world have detected 2000+ slope failures of different characteristics. A statistical analysis of the information gathered of these failures have been made and the summarized results are presented with some degree of analysis appropriate for the vastness of the database. The analysis considers different types of commodities, countries, mining processes, rock types, and weather conditions.

Glencore, in collaboration with Cascadia Scientific, conducted a study to improve the haul roads at the Antapaccay mining operation. The study utilized Cascadia's SmartRView platform for data collection, complemented by precise instrumentation installed on both Komatsu and Caterpillar haul trucks Antapaccay worked closely with Cascadia's Data Scientists,employing various statistical methods to analyze the data and identify potential enhancements to the haul road design. The study utilized Cascadia Scientific's heat mapping tool to identify road segments with high fuel intensity . As a result, four main road segments were identified for improvement.

"The paper point out the volcanogene and sediment-hosted base metal deposit from the Colombian cordilleras have been considered in the light of tectonogenic models for these deposit types, based upon the recent re-interpretation of the geology and tectonic assembly of the Northern Andean Block by Cediel and Cáceres and Cediel. Numerous distinct propitious metallogenic settings containing important but subexploredbase metal mineralisation are manifest as a result of the tectonic evolution of this northern-most sector of the Andes. Some examples include like a) Central African Cu (U) Belt - type mineralisation within the back-arc region of the early– middle Paleozoic Cordillerantype Quetame Orogeny, b) numerous SEDEX and Sediment-Hosted Zn (Pb-Ag) and Cu (Ag) styles of mineralisation associated with various phases of continental and continental margin rifting during the late Paleozoic to Mesozoic Bolívar Aulacogen, and c) various Cu-Zn-Pb (Au, Ag) Volcanogene Massive Sulphide manifestations associated with intra-oceanic magmatic arc development and accretionary tectonics during the Meso-Cenozoic Northern Andean Orogeny. Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar la eficiencia del Sistema Tohá —conocido como Lombrifiltro o Biofiltro Dinámico y Aeróbico— para el mejoramiento de la calidad de aguas residuales domésticas. Para evaluar los parámetros DBO5 y DQO se tomaron como puntos de referencia aspectos biológicos del agua a tratar, que pasó a través de un biofiltro compuesto de 4 estratos (aserrín, grava, arena y carbón), el primero de los cuales incluyó lombrices rojas (Eissenia Foetida). Antes y después de realizar el filtrado se realizaron análisis de laboratorio. Como resultado respecto de remoción de contaminantes, se obtuvieron cifras que implicaban reducciones superiores al 50%.

Durante mucho tiempo el sostenimiento de la minería a tajo abierto en Marcona ha requerido de un programa rígido de planeamiento y explotación del depósito. Por ello, se consideran dos etapas en la minería de Marcona: la primera, refiere el mineral oxidado en capas con mineral de embarque directo y la etapa del mineral primario donde se encuentran las instalaciones y las plantas de tratamiento adecuadas para el proceso de beneficio más complejo. De acuerdo a esta variedad de equipos y sistema de trabajo, el objeto de texto radica en señalar los cambios en el yacimiento minero, como la descripción de su geología, los trabajos de exploración, mineralogía, planeamiento, clasificación de los minerales, y el proceso de la operación (perforación, disparos, perforación y disparo secundario, extracción y acarreo, molienda y zarandeo), control de calidad y la instalación de la faja transportadora de San Nicolás.

It then discusses the two major developments in Australasian reporting standards in the last two years: the revision of the 1999 Code, and the introduction in early 2003 of the “ROPO” (Recognised Overseas Professional Organisation) initiative. Newmont’s Yanacocha operation in Peru presented an especially challenging environment for reliable cyanide measurement and control, processing 3 semi-distinct complex ore types with feed Cu ranging from below 250ppm (as CuCN) to more than 5000ppm, and feed S ranging from low to 5%, resulting in cyanide consumption from as low as 1.5 kg/t to as high as 3.1 kg/t, and gold recovery ranging from approximately 57% to about 78 % (average plant performance based on the type of ore). A literature search by the authors to identify a method for accurate cyanide determination that was also suitable for automation settled on the work of Breuer et al (2011) as a basis. Early challenges in adapting the laboratory technique for the ‘real solutions’ and the range of variability experienced in the plant are discussed, as are other operational challenges due to the complex and changing solution chemistry.

Waelz process is a method applied in the zinc oxide production and is one of the largest sources of carbon emissions within the zinc industry. The solid carbon used for heating and for reduction reactions is provided mainly by the coke fed with the EAFD in the Waelz kiln. Both chemical composition and physical properties of the coke are important to transportation and to the process. Decarbonizing the Waelz process by replacing the traditional fuel source using alternative biogenic fuel, for example, offers a potential solution to reduce the carbon footprint, which is aligned with the ESG perspective.

El presente texto describe el proceso e historia de una de las minas más importantes del Perú: Santa Bárbara, ubicada en Huancavelica (Sierra Central). El D. Amador de Cabrera, natural de la ciudad de Cuenca (España), fue el primer propietario de la mina Santa Bárbara - en tanto granjeó de la estirpe del cacique Navincopa –cinabrio cristalizado– en los cerros de Huancavelica desde mucho antes de la llegada española. Posteriormente, fueron los godos, quienes introdujeron el conocimiento empírico del azogue como base para obtener mercurio o hidrargiro, sin intuir que luego el cinabrio sería importante para procesar el mineral argentífero. En 1560, Bartolomé de Medina divulga su método de "purificación de la plata" por medio del mercurio, convirtiéndola en condición sine qua non para la producción de plata en las colonias. Este afán lo realizarían por ‘factorización’, donde se concesiona el transporte a un súbdito español dado al comercio bajo, cuya responsabilidad se limita al azogue hasta las minas. El azogue será realizado en cientos de miles de pequeñas bolsas especiales forradas con cuero de llama o carnero que llamaron badanas y cuya principal bondad era encajar perfectamente en los lomos de las llamas para no dañarlas.

El presente texto describe la historia, geología, exploración, actividades de explotación como parte de la construcción de la planta de beneficio en la Bahía de San Nicolás, Marcona. Dicho proyecto contempla una ampliación del la planta de chancado y almacenamiento de la mina, así como la faja transportadora de bajada a San Nicolás y red de carreteras. Asimismo se incluye la planta eléctrica Diessel y transmisión, el muelle y zona abycente, la expansión de esta planta para el tratamiento del chancado, la planta de la peletización y la planta térmica. Con la implementación de estos elementos a la planta de Marcona, se convertirá a la región en uno de los centros industriales de mayor importancia en Sudamérica.
