"In an Al-Mn alloy heat exchanger fin stock, the effect of annealing conditions for as-cast and 0.1%Zr addition on recrystallization behavior is investigated using metallurgical analysis. Refinement of post-brazed recrystallized grains in fin stocks with Zr addition are suppressed for long-time annealing. In 0.1%Zr fin stocks, there was a decrease in the number of fine a-Al(Mn,Fe)Si dispersoids for pinning of sub grain and grain boundary. In addition, relatively homogeneous distribution of Al3Zr dispersoids was observed with increasing annealing time in as-cast. Homogeneous distribution of Al3Zr dispersoids can have a major effect on pinning of sub grain and grain boundary during brazing heat treatment. The homogenous distribution of fine dispersoids prior to brazing heat treatment is effective in causing the suppression of refinement of post-brazed recrystallized grain structure in aluminum alloy fin stocks.INTRODUCTIONAl-Mn based alloys are widely used as fin stocks in automotive heat exchangers because of their superior mechanical properties, braze ability, sagging and so on. In particular, coarsening of recrystallized grain structure is beneficial to avoid erosion, and achieve excellent sagging resistance (Lee, Yoon, Kim & Jung, 2002). For resisting grain coarsening, the alloys should contain a dense and homogeneous distribution of fine dispersoids to retarder crystallization (Humphyreys& Hatherly, 2004). It has been demonstrated that addition of Zr to Al-Mn alloys can shift recrystallization to higher temperatures because of the distribution of fine Al3Zr dispersoids in matrix(Pokoba, Cieslar& Lacaze,2012). According to Tohma, Asanoand Takeuchi (1987), coarsely recrystallized grain structure was obtained in 3003alloy with Zr addition after heat treatment. However, fine Al3Zr dispersoids are usually heterogeneously distributed because of segregation during casting and low diffusion rate of Zr in aluminum. Therefore, a homogeneous distribution of Al3Zr dispersoids can be achieved through long-time precipitation annealing(Jia, Hu, Forbord& Solberg, 2008)."

THE Geophysics Education Committee has devoted several years to a consideration of the problem of training geophysicists. Past reports have dealt largely with fact finding and with the discussion of particular aspects of geophysical education. In the present report it is proposed to review the subject more comprehensively. This involves the question of what educational qualifications the geophysicist of the highest professional standards should possess, and the related question of what changes must be effected in existing educational institutions in order that prospective professional geophysicists may obtain instruction of the desired quality. The type of geophysicist here contemplated is one familiar with what is known already in the several branches of earth physics, and capable not only of following contemporary progress in any of these branches, but of contributing to that progress in a research capacity. Geophysics in its broadest sense, as has been emphasized repeatedly by this Committee, is the study of the physics of the earth and of terrestrial processes. This includes both the static and the dynamic characteristics of the gaseous, the liquid, and the solid portions of the earth, as well as its gravitational, thermal, and magnetic and electrical manifestations. Some branches of earth physics have been cultivated but slightly; others have reached an advanced state of development. Those branches whose development is sufficient to warrant explicit recognition in the form of organized Sections of the American Geophysical Union are: geodesy, seismology, tectonophysics, and volcanology, dealing with the rock constituents of the earth; oceanography and hydrology with the aqueous constituents; meteorology with the atmospheric constituents; and terrestrial electricity and magnetism with the electromagnetic manifestations. At present, instruction on the professional level in any of these branches of earth physics can be obtained in but few universities in North America. In most institutions where such instruction is undertaken different subjects are given in different and independent departments. Geodesy and hydrology are taught, if at all, as a part of civil engineering. The investigation described in this paper deals with the development of high-temperature alloys of the Konel series over a considerable period of time at t,he Research Laboratories of the Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Co. The word ''Konel" has been coined to designate a class of alloys which are essentially nickel-cobalt-iron with other elements added, usually in small quantities. Most of these alloys contain titanium, usually about 2.5 per cent. The main consideration related to strength at high temperatures but the thermionic characteristics of the alloys was also of considerable importance. It is, however, with the mechanical properties at elevated temperatures that we are herein concerned. Much attention has also been devoted to their age-hardening characteristics. There is little need to stress the utilitarian aspect of this subject, as it has been discussed frequently. Alloys exhibiting superior properties at normal or elevated temperatures rapidly find many suitable applications. There may be some question, however, as to what constitutes a "superior alloy," or an alloy that may have good service possibilities at high temperatures. The problem is complex and various means have been employed to predict the useful life that may be expected of a material. In recent years the "creep limitJ' has been used as the best means of evaluation. Such tests necessarily are prolonged and hence collection of data is very slow. In a general survey of many alloys therefore the creep test is not desirable and recourse must be had to much shorter time tests in order more rapidly to select alloys which appear to show promise. For this reason the present survey has been made using the high-temperature tensile test and a bend test developed by Howard Scott.' In the tensile test the conditions have been standardized for all tests, so that values obtained are at least comparable, one alloy with another, although the absolute values recorded merely indicate the mechanical properties at the given temperature under a definite rate of loading.

greatly restricted and every effort is being made to do away with it where possible, and to substitute a lead-base babbitt or a babbitt with 50 per cent,. tin. The amount of solder having the composition 50 lead, 50 tin, used by the Pennsylvania Lines East, during 1917, was approximately 100,000 lb., but there is reason to believe that a large portion of this can be replaced by a 60-lead, 40-tin solder with satisfactory results, and instructions have been issued to this effect. Inregard to the quantity of new tin used, it is not possible to give the amount, except approximately and from calculations based on the 1917 consumption of bearing metals by the Pennsylvania Lines East only, it is estimated that about 770,000 Ib. of new tin were required in a total of about 21,380,000 lb. of all kinds of bearing metals turned out by the foundry or purchased in the market. No change has been made in the specifications for bearing metals for some years, as the metals used have been satisfactory. A large proportion of the bearing metals are made up from old material re-melted and brought to standard composition by some addition of new metal, and every effort is being made to utilize old material to the best advantage and reduce the amount of new metal of all kinds purchased. For a number of years no tin has been used in the lining metal of either passenger or freight car journal-bearings, except such small amounts as come in from re-melting old linings. No change has been made in phosphor bronze used for rod bushings, as we should expect some trouble from bushings pounding out of shape if a phosphor bronze were used which contained less tin or more lead than the present specifications call for. In this, as well as in the case of all other bearing metals, we expect to use our utmost endeavors to economize and to substitute for tin wherever possible. The Tin-plate Industry D. M. "The low cost and availability of micro-computers and their peripherals provides the metallurgical engineer with the opportunity to use such computers in a wide variety of applications. In this paper, the authors describe the development of a low cost data acquisition system capable of measuring up to 8 analogue channels at a sampling rate of up to 5000 measure mentsper second. This system is equipped with proper hardware and software so that the micro-computer can be linked to a central computer facility such as the McGill System for Interactive Computing (MUSIC). This central computer facility is supported by an AMDAHL V7 computer. Using the present interface, communication rates between the microcomputer and the central computing facility can be as high as 9600 (baud).The above mentioned data acquisition system is currently used for monitoring dissolution kinetics of ferro-alloy additions in liquid steel. In addition to this, special software has been developed which enables the user of this system to monitor solidification rates of ingots, etc. As economic considerations are always important, comparisons have been made with existing recorders which show that the cost Of the present system is only 30 per cent more than a two-pen strip chart recorder.RESUMELa disponibilité et le bas prix des micro-ordinateurs et de leurs périphériques permet à l'ingénieur métallurgiste d'utiliser de tels ordinateurs pour diverses applications. Por tal motivo, el objetivo del presente texto busca incrementar la capacidad de las plantas generadoras existentes a través de varios proyectos como la estimulación de lluvias, desviación del rio Colorado, el dragrado del canal de Upamayo, la elevación del lago Junín. Para el programa de refinamiento de zinc, se autorizó la construcción del proyecto hidroeléctrico de Paucartambo con una capacidad de 65 mil K, obteniéndose las siguientes características: la carretera de acceso, represa de desviación, la bocatoma, desarenador, cámara de carga, túnel principal, cámara de equilibrio, válvula de mariposa, funicular paralelo, casa de fuerza, tres turbinas de impulsión, generadores, subestación. Each of the three refining furnaces in use at Great Falls is provided with a waste-heat boiler. The general arrangement of furnace and boiler is as shown in Fig. 1. Two of the furnaces have hearths 45 ft. 7 in. by 14 ft. 6 in.; the third has a hearth 46 ft. 101/2 in. long and of the same width as the other two. The furnaces at present are equipped for firing with natural gas. As originally constructed two of the furnaces had hearths 36 by 14 ft., and were designed to use coal on grates, but these furnaces were lengthened and fired successively with pulverized coal and oil. The third furnace was added in 1926 and was oil-fired until 1928. Since that year natural gas has been in use on all of the furnaces. The changes that have occurred in connection with furnace design and the comparative performance of the furnaces with various fuels were described1 by the author in 1932. Two of the furnaces are provided with Stirling class A-30 boiler. rated at 400 hp. and having 4008 sq. ft. of heating surface. The thir furnace has a class A-21 Stirling waste-heat boiler rated at 300 hp. with 2805 sq. ft. of heating surface. The boilers are not baffled. The waste-heat boilers are placed on a platform 17 ft. 3 in. above the level of the furnace charge floor. The waste gases from the furnace pass by a vertical uptake flue, 4 by 3 ft. inside at the point where it enters the chamber, to a brick chamber from which the gases pass over a bridge wall and into the boiler setting. The uptake flue and chamber are constructed of silica brick. Each furnace has a steel stack 125 ft. high, measured from the boiler floor. The stacks have a 41/2-in. firebrick lining and are 5 ft. in diameter

Work with hand-held power tools can be found in most industries all over the world. This type of work exposes the operators to different kind of loads like gripping-forces, feed-forces, exposure to vibration and noise, holding hot or cold surfaces and the exposure to dust. Designing a power tool with good ergonomics is a matter of finding the best compromise. As a simple example, increasing the mass is not acceptable because it will increase the forces needed to handle the tool. At the same time increased mass will in most cases reduce the vibrations. Vibration disorders related to the use of hand-held power tools has been known and reported since long. It is therefore essential that low vibrating tools are developed and used. The new vibration regulations in Europe, based on the Physical Agents (Vibration) Directive, have put increased focus on the vibration control in industry. Forces acting on the tool cause vibration Tools for industrial use must be of very robust design to withstand the very hard use they are exposed to. Industrial tools are therefore normally designed with the main parts made of metal. From a vibration point of view this means that most tools can be regarded as rigid bodies, especially because the dominating frequency normally is equal to the rotational frequency of the tool spindle or the blow frequency for a percussive tool. These frequencies are with few exceptions below 200 Hz. Handles however can not always be regarded as rigidly connected to the tool. There are several examples of weak suspensions designed to reduce vibration transmitted to the hands of the operator. There are also examples of designs where the handles just happened to be non-rigidly connected and in some cases even in resonance within the frequency region of interest. Oscillating forces act on the tool and the result is vibration. Design principals In all cases forces are the source of vibration. This leads to the three basic principles to control vibration: • Control the magnitude of the vibrating forces. Examples are the balancing unit on a grinder or the differential piston in a chipping hammer. • Make the tool less sensitive to the vibrating forces. Examples can be when the mass of the guard on a grinder is rigidly connected to the tool to increase the inertia of the tool. • Isolate the vibrations in the tool from the grip surfaces. Examples are vibration-dampening handles on grinders or pavement breakers, the air-spring behind the blow-mechanism in a riveting hammer or the mass spring system in a chipping hammer.

"Noranda's Goldstream mine is a 1,500 ton per day copper-zinc mine located 60 miles north of Revelstoke, B.C.The orebody which contains 3.69% Cu and 2.69% Zn was discovered in 1972. Construction of the mine and mill was completed in 1982 and start up was achieved in May 1983.This paper will describe the flowsheet and related equipment 1n the crusher and mill, in particular the dewatering section where two Larox pressure filters are used to dry the concentrates.INTRODUCTIONThe Goldstrean property is located 60 miles north of Revelstoke, B.C. in the Goldstream River Valley (Figure #1). It was discovered during the construction of a logging road in 1972. Exploratory drilling was initiated in 1975, and in 1976 a portal was collared to obtain underground data. Samples were taken from the underground workings for metallurgical bench tests and a pilot plant run.Due to economic conditions, the decision to go into production was delayed until 1980. Concentrator construction and underground development progressed simultaneously during 1981 and 1982, and were completed by the end of 1982. Start up of the concentrator was achieved on May 2, 1983.The ore typically contains about 40% sulphides, which are chalcopyrite 10%, sphaletite 6%, pyrrhotite 20%, and pyrite less than 5%. The sulphide minerals have a high degree of intergrowth. Most of the sphalerite occurs in micron sized grains which are embedded in the pyrrhotite and, to a lesser degree in the chalcopyrite. There is also some fine dissemination of the chalcopyrite in the pyrrhotite. The waste rock is made up of about 30% quartz, 20% guange silicates, and 10% carbonates. The ore has a specific gravity of 3.2 and a natural pH of 8.2."

In-situ measurements of ground stress were made from surface boreholes, using overcoring and hydrofracturing techniques, to obtain data for the detailed design of the underground works at Pergau. Unexpectedly low stresses were measured and appeared to correlate with apparent hydrofracturing observed during permeability testing. The low values of the minor principal stress had a major impact on design, particularly of the lining for the pressure tunnel and shaft. Additional hydrofracture tests were made underground during construction of the low- and high-pressure headrace tunnels and the pressure shaft, to define the vertical reduction in the minor principal stress with overburden. These data were then used to locate and design the steel and reinforced concrete linings

"Four occurrences of galena-cemented sandstones, exposed in the Lower St. Lawrence - Gaspésie area, are described. They constitute a new, insufficiently explored type of deposit in Quebec.One mineralized body, a minor occurrence, is hosted in Lower Devonian rocks deposited in an estuarine, intertidal river channel during a marine regression; major cements are dolomite and sulphides. Another occurrence, a drilled prospect, is hosted in Upper Silurian rocks deposited unconformably on Cambro Ordovician basement during a marine transgression. With galena and quartz as main cementing minerals, it is similar to some well-known, economic sandstone-lead deposits. A third and fourth, a drilled prospect and a minor occurrence, are hosted in Upper Cambrian rocks deposited on continental slopes. In both, sulphides mainly occupy a secondary porosity. The differences between the third and fourth occurrences are: (1) cementing translucent minerals (carbonates and barite in one; chlorite in the other); (2) chronology of final subsurface dissolution (prior and subsequent to sulphide precipitation, respectively); and (3) important fracture porosity only in the barite-bearing deposit.The diversity of the four occurrences, and the unequal geological knowledge of their respective features, prohibit the formulation of uniform guidelines for further exploration.IntroductionThe attention of the mineral exploration community is drawn to four occurrences of galena-cemented sandstones (Fig. 2A) in the Cambrian of the Taconian Orogen and in the Siluro-Devonian basin of the Lower St. Lawrence and Gaspésie area (Fig. 1). In view of the fact that sandstone-lead deposits (Bjerlykke and Sangster, 1981) are, or have been, mined in several countries (e.g . Laisvall in Sweden: see Rickard et al., 1979; Largentiere in France: see Foglierini et al., 1980), the mere presence of occurrences in Quebec indicates that the mineral potential of some parts of the Appalachians requires further evaluation.Exploration for the deposits considered here is essentially restricted to geological methods and drilJing (e.g . Mainguet Suares and Samama, 1969), since the response to geophysical methods is virtually nil, at least in the initial, surficial stage of an exploration program. As the particular disciplines of geology utilized in exploration depend a great deal on the geological setting of a mineral occurrence, the diversity of the Quebec deposits is of prime importance. Therefore, the four occurrences (Fig. I, Table 1) studied by the authors are herein briefly described with emphasis on their stratigraphic and tectonic setting, and on the evolution of pore space and sequential occlusion of pores and fractures. Prior to further research in and around the occurrences, now in progress (e.g. Beaudoin, 1987; Beaudoin et al., 1987), it is hoped that the following outline will be useful to the explorationist."

At the February, 1916, meeting of the Institute, a paper presented by Hayward and Raymond gave the results of a study on the effect of time in tempering medium-carbon steel, when the following conclusions were reached: It is not fair to consider the question settled when only three specimens were used for each treatment, but the results obtained indicate that for reheating quenched medium-carbon steel to temperatures below 500" it is only necessary to heat it through. Longer heating has little or no effect on the tensile strength, ductility, or hardness. At temperatures above 500°, increasing the time of treatment causes a slight falling off in hardness and tensile strength with a corresponding increase in ductility. In the discussion of the paper these conclusions were attacked and evidence was presented that seemed to throw doubt on their accuracy. The authors, however, showed that this evidence was based on high-carbon or alloy steels and no facts regarding medium-carbon steel were presented. During this study the heat treatment was carried out in a small electric resistance furnace. It held nine specimens, but when these were placed in the furnace the temperature was lowered to such an extent that 30 to 40 min. were required to reach the desired heat. The authors pointed to this as a weak point in the investigation and it seemed wise to supplement the research by work on similar steel but using a different method of heating. This has been done and the results are given in the present paper. The Rhode Island Tool Co. coöperated by furnishing the steel and turning the tensile specimens. IF the ball mill is considered only from an energy standpoint, it can be thought of as a converter of kinetic energy into heat energy and surface energy. The law of the conservation of energy must apply to the ball mill as it does to any machine or process in nature. The heat energy output of the ball mill is apparent to any casual observer of the operating mill since the outflow pulp will be appreciably warmer than the inflow water and rock. The rock in the ball mill is crushed by shearing of its ionic bonding caused by some impact-induced stresses beyond the elastic limit. As the bonds holding the mineral crystal lattices together are ruptured, new surface area is created on each unit of which a definite number of unsaturated bonds exist. Such unsaturated energy of bonding may be termed the "surface energy," and is a potential energy figure. This created energy was withdrawn from the ball mill system and represents an absorption, or disappearance of heat. To reduce the size of the rock, surface area must be created and with it the at- tendant characteristic surface energies of the minerals concerned. Thus the creation of surface energy, from an energy viewpoint, is the creation of useful work by the ball mill. Because of the controversial nature of the energy efficiency figures for modern operating ball mills, it seemed worthwhile to approximate the ordinary magnitude of such efficiencies from the above viewpoint. This was done by an energy balance of the three aforementioned forms of energy, kinetic, heat, and surface energy, for two 9Y2x10-ft grate-type ball mills grinding cement raw materials. Kinetic energy input to the balls was approximated as closely as possible while the heat energy output was measured by means of a thermometer and water and rock flow rates. The assumption was made

GAYLER, Teddington, England (written discussion).-At the National Physical Laboratory, the writers have made a number of researches on the relation between the constitution and mechanical properties of aluminum alloys of various types; the results obtained were in good general agreement with those of the authors. The writers, however, did not think that increasing the copper content of sand-cast low-copper duralumin to 4 per cent. necessarily caused a drop in the elongation to 1.5 per cent., as stated on page 9. In the case of sand-cast copper-aluminium alloys they had obtained much greater elongation, in some cases as great as 13 per cent. in heat-treated castings. For example, in a sand casting containing 3.5 per cent. of copper, a strength of 12 tons per square inch and an elongation of 13 per cent. were obtained; in a casting containing 4.5 per cent. copper, a tensile strength of 13 tons, and an elongation of 9 per cent. were obtained. These values were the maximum; the elongation varied considerably, being as low as 5 per cent. in some cases. In the writers' opinion, such variations are due more to unsoundness in the sand casting than to any other cause.

THE necessity of accurate temperature measurements in the glass-making industries is today being much more widely appreciated than in the past. The introduction of the modern simplified and perfected pyrometric methods in connection with exact regulation of furnace temperatures has caused a marked improvement in the glass product with a quickened rate of production. An example of the processes in which much improvement has been and still can be made is that of annealing or heat-treating the glass. This is one of the most delicate processes in glass manufacture and one that requires a most careful furnace control. The heat treatment is undertaken to decrease the possibility of breakage and, in glass for fine optical instruments, to prevent serious warping of accurately ground and polished surfaces and to make the glass more uniform throughout to the passage of light waves. These objects are accomplished by removing all the harmful stresses that exist in a piece of glass when it has been cooled too quickly or unevenly. Such stresses exist, for example, after it has been pressed, cast, or otherwise worked. Thus the process of annealing consists of heating the glass evenly to the temperature at which it softens just enough to relieve these stresses in a reasonable time and then cooling slowly and uniformly until the glass hardens again. Accordingly, the things that must be investigated and determined in order to anneal glass without loss of time are, the annealing temperature, the time that the glass should be held at this temperature while the stresses relax, and the quickest cooling procedure that will give satisfactory results. After these characteristics of the glass are known the problem is one of pyrometry and temperature control entirely. In cases when it is known that a glass article will be required to withstand some definite type of heat or mechanical shock it is often possible, by a proper heat treatment, to produce such a distribution of the stresses in the glass that it will be enabled to resist these shocks more effectively.

SECTIONS 1. INTRODUCTION.—In this investigation the meltingpoint and the specific heat of certain artificial silicates were determined by the method of mixtures, using a large platinum-ball pyrometer. The silicates were placed in platinum crucibles on the hearth of a small regenerative gas-furnace (Figs. 1 and 2), and the platinum ball was placed between them. The temperature of the furnace was usually raised very slowly, the behavior of the silicates being observed as they gradually grew hotter; and their temperature was ascertained indirectly from time to time by determining that of the platinum ball, which to that end was temporarily withdrawn from the furnace and immersed in a known weight of water in a calorimeter. The weight and specific heat of water and of platinum ball being known (the specific heat of the latter approximately), it mas possible to calculate the temperature of the platinum ball, which was assumed to have been substantially that of the silicates which surrounded it in the furnace. The specific heat of the silicates also was determined by the method of mixtures. Their temperature having been determined as just described, one of them was dropped into a known weight of water in a calorimeter, whose rise of temperature was then noted. Knowing the weight and initial temperature of the silicate, its specific heat was wily calculated. The reults obtained, especially as regards the melting-point, must be regarded as first approximations. The technical difficulties encountered were so serious as to raise doubts, now from one cause, .now from another, as to the accuracy of most of the results: hence I give but a few, those which were reached without mishap, and with proper observation of the various precautions. In December, 1894, the Cambria Iron Company made a number of heats of Bessemer steel to be used in structures by one of its customers, subject to inspection and tests by a firm of consulting engineers, one of the requirements being that the material should riot exceed .08 per cent. of phosphorus. In other respects the requirements were such that they could only be met by material of good quality; but the general spe cification is not introduced here, as it is not the purpose of this paper to deal with anything except certain difficulties encoun tered in determining the phosphorus-content of the material in a manner satisfactory to both seller and buyer. Preliminary determinations of phosphorus were made in sample-ingots from each of the heats from which material was rolled for the order in question, and these preliminary chemical tests, made in the laboratory of the Cambria Iron Company, showed that, with very few exceptions, every heat was within the prescribed limit of phosphorus. After the material had been rolled, sample-drilling8 of finished material were taken from the various heats in the regular manner in use at the works, these samples being thoroughly mixed and divided into two parts, one of which was analyzed at the works' laboratory and the other sent to the inspecting engineer. Several hundred determinations were made from this mate rial without reaching an agreement between the work of the inspector's chemist and that of the works' chemist; but as it is not the object of this memorandum to treat of this part of the subject at length, it is considered sufficient to present herewith only a few of these first determinations. The analyses given in Table I. are those of the original series made on the heats which were afterwards resampled for final determination by an arbitrator; and they are selected for this reason, as the entire " comparison is thus rendered more complete.

"A new record in fuel efficiency at petroleum refineries was achieved in 1935, when an average of only 615,000 B. t. u. was needed to refine a barrel of crude oil, compared with an average of 638,000 B. t. u. in 1934 and 829,000 B. t. u. In 1925. (See fig. 1.)Refiners have made almost uninterrupted progress in firing efficiency during the last decade although much of this gain was brought about by improved technique and greater use of heat exchangers and pipe stills, the determining factor was the trend in crude runs to stills. Most plants can increase their crude throughput materially with but small increase in fuel consumption. Consequently, in years in which crude runs have increased substantially, average requirements have declined; but in years in which crude runs have decreased, the average has tended upward. This conclusion is confirmed by figure 1, which shows that there has been but one minor exception to this rule in the last 10 years.Technical progress in fuel efficiency may be illustrated by comparing crude runs and total B. t, u. consumed. Between 1925 and 1935 crude runs to stills increased 31 percent, but the total quantity of heat required did not increase; in fact, it declined slightly.The trend of modern still construction is from shell stills, in which a large body of oil is heated, to tube stills, in which the heat comes into much closer contact with the oil. In 1935 the total capacity of operating pipe stills increased about 4 percent; this increase, though small, probably was related to the gain in average efficiency.The Increased use of heat exchangers and their role as fuel savers have been discussed in previous reports of this series. It is sufficient to say that refiners with insufficient exchange capacity added as much in 1935 as their budgets would permit."
