US 4,183,794 - Electrowinning zinc from a zinc sulfate solution produced by leaching zinc ore with sulfuric acid. The leach liquor is subjected to electrolysis in a first cell having an insoluble anode to deposit primary zinc on the common electrode. The coated electrode is transferred to a second cell having an alkaline electrolyte, and electrolysis is effected in the second cell to transfer zinc from the common electrode to the second cell cathode in a spongelike form which is readily stripped. Five miles southwest of Mt. Holly Springs, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia Clay Co. has been mining and milling a white clay since 1896; for use in white cement, as a filler in rubber, pigment and paper, in the manufacture of insecticides, and for other minor purposes. Until late in 1942, when the mine was abandoned because of labor shortage, combined underground mining and surface stripping produced approximately 30,000 tons of clay a year, of which 10,000 tons were refined in the mill. Geology Lower Cambrian Antietam quartzite and the Rilontalto quartzite, stratigraphi-cally older, trend N.55°E. and make a sharp 1600-ft. anticlinal ridge of the South Mountains. The Tomstown dolomite overlies the Antietam quartzite on the southeast flank of the anticline, which is displaced near its crest by a steeply dipping oblique fault. Erosion of the less resistant Tomstown formation has resulted in a narrow valley at an elevation of 700 ft. Directly on top of the Antietam quartzite and at the base of the Tomstown formation is a zone of sandy white clay, lenticular along the strike of the formations, ranging in thickness from 10 to 300 ft. within a mile. All of the formations dip steeply to the southeast, from 65" to vertical. The clay crops out at an elevation of about 1000 feet. Origin and Character The uppermost part of the Antietam formation is sericitic and schistose at many places, and at all these places weathering is in an advanced stage. The clay is the residual product of weathering of this sericitic quartzite or sandy schist. The crude clay has the physical aspect of a sandy kaolin, but there Are large areas in the clay formation that are low in free silica, and commonly the 30 ft. adjacent to the Antietam quartzite is notably free of silica. The overlying Tomstown dolomite has been weathered almost completely to a mixed yellow and brown clay, which carries a zone of nodular and chunky limonite and manganese ore, 4 to 12 ft. thick, about loo ft. from the contact with the white clay. In mining, this zone is an important "marker," indicating where the white clay may be expected in an advancing tunnel. The contact of the white clay formation with the yellow and brown clay of the Tomstown formation is relatively sharp, although the line of contact is irregular and therefore responsible for the lenticular character of the white clay formation. Following is an analysis of the refined clay containing less than one per cent of moisture when dried at 212°F.: SiO2, 67.05 per cent; Al2O3, 22.27; Fe2O3, 0.40; CaO, 0.00; TiO2, 1.05; MgO, 0.52; Na20, 0.04; K2O, 0.88; ignition loss, 7.65; total, 99.86.

The name is derived from an Egyptian myth, "A beautiful lone bird which lived in the Arabian desert for 500 or 600 years and then consumed itself in fire, rising renewed from the ashes to start another long life." HISTORY This account of the first history is gleaned from old reports and documents which are listed in the Bibliography and from discussions with old-timers of the district. Prospectors were active in the vicinity of Greenwood in 189 1, and in that year staked the Mother Lode, Crown Silver, and Sunset. Henry White staked the Knob Hill claim in Phoenix on Jul. 15, 1891, and by the end of the year, other prospectors had staked most of the claims covering the valuable ore bodies in the camp. Much surface work done in the early years indicated that the values in copper, gold, and silver were low. Large capital investments were required to develop the ore bodies and build smelters. The discovery that the ore was practically self-fluxing greatly enhanced the value of the deposits. A map of the area showing the geology is given in Fig. 1. The bedded Brooklyn conglomerate is shown in Fig. 2.

It is shown that coke has a major influence on the pattern of operation and on the aerodynamics of the blast furnace and that the physical and chemical characteristics of coke, at each stage in the furnace, determine its ability to satisfy requirements for iron production and coke economy. Analysis of coke sampled from operating furnaces is compared with furnace behaviour. The available data suggests the importance of segregation, strength, size change and chemical degradation of coke on furnace performance. Correlations are presented for coke breakdown ratio as a function of coke rate and hearth diameter which shows that breakdown increases with hearth diameter and with decreasing coke rate. It is also shown that the Micum tests do not reflect the coke strength in a predictable way and that solution reactions appear to play an important role in giving rise to a pitting effect on the cell walls of the coke with the resultant deterioration in coke properties. The catalytic effect of activating substances, such as alkalis, is noted and results are presented which show the effect of carbon solution on the coke strength. The importance of coke in the stack and in the bosh is discussed and flooding results are presented for BSC furnaces which show the probable driving limits for the furnaces considered. It is also shown that coke sampled from different tuyeres in a furnace gives quite different flooding limits. Other applications of the coke test work at BSC are also noted and the relevant objectives listed.

SAMPLING of the fluid from oil wells for percentages of oil, emulsified oil, and water during the last two years has brought out some interesting facts concerning oil-water emulsion. This result led to a laboratory investigation of emulsion, which substantiated the conclusions made from the field observations. The purpose of this paper is to present the information collected, the laboratory experiments, and our interpretation of the same. In order to define emulsified oil exactly, give its synthesis and origin, and to show how and when it is formed in the wells, the work was necessarily divided into two separate lines-laboratory work and field observations. It is hoped that this study may lead to a discussion of such points so that the petroleum engineer, geologist, or technologist may be benefited by its practical bearing on oil-field management. Special credit is due Mr. Everett Carpenter, chief geologist of the Empire Gas & Fuel Co., for his assistance and cooperation in this work. LABORATORY INVESTIGATIONS ON EMULSIFIED OIL Laboratory investigations were conducted in an attempt to learn the composition and some of the properties of emulsified oil, or B. S., as it is more commonly called, also to demonstrate, by laboratory methods, how B. S. may be formed under conditions similar to those existing at the time a well is being pumped, and how it may be broken down. Literature bearing on this subject is widely scattered and very limited in scope. Bacon and Hamor define B. S., or bottom settlings, as "earthy matter, inert organic matter, or, in the case of Pennsylvanian petroleum, an emulsion of paraffin wax and water, which accompanies crude oil." FOR many years more money was spent in the search for and the production of gold than the gold that was produced was worth. The same thing is now true of petroleum. More money is spent for the search and. production of petroleum than the market value of the petroleum produced. The first thought concerning this statement will be that men would not embark in a business in which more money was expended than the value of the product produced. Few people realize that more money is spent in the oil business than the market value of the oil produced. This would not stop the spending if they knew it. Everybody knows that more money goes into a lottery than comes out of it, yet the instinct for gambling is so widespread and so easily excited that lotteries are forbidden by law. The hope of winning the grand prize is what lures men on. The search for and production of oil has become a more frenzied game than the search for gold ever was. THE OIL BUSINESS PAYS NOW BUT THE PUBLIC WILL PAY FOR ALL ETERNITY The public could sit back and enjoy all of this, knowing they were being supplied with petroleum products at less than their real cost, if it were not that our most valuable and least plentiful natural resource is being dissipated at an alarming rate, which is constantly increasing. Here is an industry that for many years has not been governed by natural laws. The so-called laws of individual and mass psychology play a more important role than natural physical and economic laws. Even the law of supply and demand works only in the most remote way in this industry. The oil production business as a whole is now paying the price for this folly; but the public will pay the price for all eternity. The seriousness of this matter, as an outstanding national problem, has been under consideration by many men for a long time, but nothing has been done to conserve our petroleum resources and prolong the supply, although very important steps have recently been taken to make this possible.

One of the features of modern life has been the increasing speed of change. We see this in many facets of activity, but in few areas more clearly than in the financial sector. The speed of communication and the advent of screen trading have made world markets one.We have titled this presentation "Cycles". It has been the conventional wisdom that Economies, Metal Prices, Equity Markets, etc. move in cycles. The objective of our presentation is to examine these cycles, to comment on the interrelationships, and to postulate where we are in The Current Cycle". We will draw conclusions as to where one should direct effort in the Mineral Scene over the next decade or so.Throughout this discussion we will use various terms to describe Time. The "Short Term" is typically meant to refer to the next six months: the "Medium Term" is one to two years; and the "Long Term" is the three to five year horizon.

Studies upon the rates of oxidation of copper alloys containing small quantities of the alloying elementsl,2 have shown that steady growth of the scales at predictable rates is limited to a small concentration range and to oxidation at temperatures above 600°C., whereas unpredictable and erratic oxidation behavior is found with alloys containing larger additions and at low temperatures. The latter effect appears to be associated with modifications in the geometric disposition of the oxides. At low concentrations of the baser elements in copper, simple oxidation behavior is typified by the formation of two distinguishable zones of oxidation: (I) a subscale composed of discrete particles of the oxide of the alloying element embedded in substantially pure copper and (2) an external scale composed of cuprous oxide (with a very thin layer of cupric oxide on the outside) containing particles of the alloying element distributed throughout, but most profusely near the metal surface (see Fig. 2, top). Where this type of structure obtains, the process of oxidation is believed to be implemented, and its rate controlled, by the diffusion of the reacting elements through a' continuous matrix phase; i.e., through the alpha (metallic) phase of the subscale and alloy and through the cuprous oxide of the external scale. Copper is presumed to diffuse outward through the cuprous oxide layer to the external surface, where it reacts to form more cuprous oxide.3 Oxygen is delivered at the oxide-metal interface in the form of cuprous oxide, which may either react with the alloying element to deposit its oxide at the inner limit of the external scale or dissolve in the pure copper that remains at the surface of the metal after it has become depleted in its oxidiza-ble alloying elements. Both oxygen and the alloying element are pictured as diffusing through the metal, the oxygen inward and the alloying element outward. Where the two diffusion streams meet in sufficient concentration the oxide of the subscale is precipitated. If the oxygen pressure in the surrounding atmosphere is just below the pressure necessary to maintain cuprous oxide undecomposed, no cuprous oxide can be formed; some of the oxide of the alloying element may form upon the external surface, if its decomposition pressure is below that of cuprous oxide, and a normal sub-scale appears. This condition is achieved experimentally by enclosing the alloy with cuprous oxide together with an excess of copper. At temperatures from 600°C. downward, the precipitated oxides tend to accumulate at the grain boundaries of the alpha phase where a relatively small volume establishes a partial barrier to the diffusion of the reactants- Similarly, large volumes of Precipitated oxides tend to deposit in various patterns that may be expected to

A liquid-Freon permeameter suitable for making routine permeability determinations on small plug samples is described. The instrument is characterized by simplicity of design and ease of operation, and can be assembled inexpensively from stock items of laboratory equipment. It combines the unique advantages of both liquid and gas permeam-eters while eliminating many undesirable features of both general classes of instruments. Precision and accuracy of the specific Freon permeability measurements compare favorably with results of conventional liquid and gas permeameters. INTRODUCTION The liquid-Freon permeameter described in this paper was designed and built for special investigations of the properties of petroleum reservoir rocks. However, its unique advantages over conventional gas and liquid permeameters make it eminently suitable for routine use in the core analysis of small plug samples. In general, gas permeameters are very popular because of their simplicity of design and ease of operation. However, apparent gas permeabilities are normally higher than true specific permeabilities unless special corrections for gas-slippage are applied. Since these corrections require two or more measurements at different internal gas pressures, much of the time advantage of the specific gas permeability measurements is lost. Liquid permeability measurements, on the other hand, require no slip correction, but liquid saturation of the sample is time-consuming and difficult to insure. Often, too, the saturating liquid must be extracted or dried from the plug before it can be used for another experiment. The liquid-Freon permeameter described herein retains the inherent accuracy of the liquid permeameter, while affording the speed and ease of operation of the gas permeameter. Freon-12 (dichlorodifluoromethane) is a haloge-nated hydrocarbon, immiscible in the liquid phase with water. It may be considered as an oil phase in laboratory fluid-flow studies. Like butane and propane, it is a gas at normal room temperatures and atmospheric pressure but can be liquefied at moderate pressures. Complete liquid saturation of a plug sample with any of these fluids can be easily achieved by condensing vapors in the sample and operating the permeameter at a pressure above the vapor pressure of the liquid. Freon-12 is superior to butane or propane for permeability measurements only in that it is relatively nontoxic and completely incombustible, and thus presents no fire or explosion hazard. Freon-12 is believed to be completely nonreactive with most petroleum-reservoir rock samples. It volatilizes immediately from a plug on depressurizing to leave a clean, dry sample suitable for subsequent experiments. Thus, the inherent risk of changing physical properties of rock samples by cleaning and drying operations between permeability measurement and subsequent experiments is eliminated. Previously we reported crushing or grinding crystalline silica results in silica-based free radicals on the particulate surface which can generate hydroxyl radicals in aqueous solution (1). Now we find that freshly ground silica is more cytotoxic to and a more potent activator of alveolar macrophages than similarly sized aged silica. Since the United States Department of Labor estimates that over 1.25 million American workers may be exposed to freshly ground crystalline silica arid nearly 60,000 may be at risk of developing some degree of silica-based occupational lung disease, then this is hardly a trivial problem. Occupations of concern include workers who come in contact with silica including miners of soft and hard minerals, stone quarry workers, glass workers and even millers who stone grind flour. Acute silicosis is manifested by inflammation, alveolar lipo-proteinosis, and the rapid development of respiratory disability that depending on the dose of silica can produce chronic silicosis which takes 20 - 40 years to develop. It is demonstrated by the appearance of concentric hyalinized nodular lesions and progressive development of dyspnea(3). Certainly the free radicals produced on the surface of freshly ground crystalline silica play a most important role in producing the acute and chronic symptoms of silicosis. When respirable-size freshly- ground silica (0.1 -- 5 microns in diameter) enters the deep alveolar spaces in the lung and contacts an aqueous environment, hydroxyl radical are generated and cellular damage is bound to occur. We have found that freshly ground silica can cause lipid peroxidation and lysis of erythrocytes(1). The objective of this investigation was to further elucidate the enhanced toxicity of freshly ground versus aged silica. It can be deduced from the data that not only is freshly ground silica more cytotoxic to alveolar macrophages but it is a more potent stimulant of these phagocytes. However the mere characterization of toxicity is not entirely helpful if there is not a useful means to detoxify the cause of the damage. We have identified an aqueously soluble substance that can be used in high dilution to detoxify the SiO(•) and Si(•) type of free radicals. This is the organosilane known as Prosil 28 (R). We have found that coating of the freshly ground silica can effectively reduce its toxicity. The importance of this observation is that such a coating could be used with water cooled drills. This may partially detoxify silica at the point of generation of the free radical, i.e., the generation of the fresh silica dust itself. Such a coating could be used in great dilution 1:103 or 1:104. The coating would be long lasting, inexpensive and should be non-toxic because of the great dilution.

Four portraits have recently been hung in the rooms of the Institute, in recognition of four illustrious men with whom we, as mining engineers and metallurgists, may claim fellowship. Luther. Martin Luther is often spoken of as a miner's son; but it is less generally known that John Luther, his father, was, in a small way, a metallurgist as well as a miner, and that Martin Luther himself, in his youth, worked in a forge or bloomary established by his father at Mansfeld, Saxony. Since this is the only manual occupation on his part of which we have ally record, it is fair to assume that the great scholar and reformer derived from his work in this department the practical familiarity with the conditions of human labor so abundantly evinced in the homely illustrations which accompany even his serious arguments, and in the witty apothegms of his famous " table-talk." At the same time, I must confess that I have not been able to find in any of the works of Luther distinct allusions to mining or metallurgy. Körner. Theodor Körner, a student at the Mining Academy of Freiberg, Saxony, threw himself into the German War of Freedom in the first decade of the 19th Century. He was a poet of no mean rank; and his " Song of the Sword " is one of the great lyrics of literature. This poem was written but a few days before he died in battle. In many respects, Körner may be compared with our American hero Theodore Winthrop, who similarly met a glorious fate, and left behind him prophetic indications of geniue, of which his premature death prevented the complete fulfillment. I am informed by a member of the Institute that Körner's admirable collection of minerals is still preserved at Dresden.

MICA is a mineral that once was a familiar sight as fireproof windows in stove and furnace doors and as lamp chimneys and shades. Since 1878, the beginning of the electrical age, the use of mica for such purposes has gradually declined and its use in electrical equipment and appliances has developed to such an extent that the known sources of supply are scarcely equal to the demand. With the increasing capacity of electric generating units, the size of mica sheets found in nature was inadequate. However, in 1894, a process was developed whereby thin films or splittings cemented with shellac or other binders could be pressed into large sheets. 18 The introduction of radio in the early 1920s created such a heavy demand for the smaller sizes of mica that on March 22, 1938, mica was included among 23 commodities on the list of strategic materials approved by the United States Army and Navy Munitions Board. To be included in this list, the material must be one whereof the domestic supply is not sufficient to meet the demand. COMPOSITION Mica is a complex mineral composed principally of the silicates of potassium, aluminum, and magnesium. Less prevalent species contain, as essential components, lithium, vanadium, and chromium. Iron usually is present either as an essential component or as an impurity. The mica group comprises some nine different species, five of which, muscovite, phlogopite, vermiculite, lepidolite, and biotite, are widely used in industry. Lepidolite and zinnwaldite (lithium micas) and roscoelite (vanadium mica) are sources of lithium and vanadium. Muscovite, "white mica," is potassium mica. Theoretical formulas H2KAl3(SiO4)3. There are two varieties, distinguished as to color, known in industry as ruby and green. In crystals or "books," the colors each range through varying shades of red and green. However, when split into thin films, all micas, except biotite and phlogopite, are colorless and transparent. Muscovite frequently is stained red or black by thin films of iron oxide between the laminae. The staining usually is derived from magnetite, which sometimes is found as unaltered crystals.

Since commissioning in 2005, First Quantum Minerals’ Kansanshi Mine in Zambia has produced over three million tons of copper and 1.8 million ounces of gold from a deposit with highly varied copper mineralization. The processing plant is complex with three independent flotation circuits, gold gravity concentration, atmospheric and high pressure leaching, solvent extraction, and electro-winning. For the first ten years of operating the plant, copper mineralogy was inferred from total copper and acid soluble copper assays, and various misconceptions developed about the mineralogy which impacted operational strategy and project decisions. In 2015, an on-site mineralogy section was set up with an Automated Scanning Electron Microscope, the Zeiss MinScan. This instrument has provided detailed mineralogical data that have debunked some of the mineralogy myths that had developed, highlighting the key underlying issues affecting processing performance. This has enabled the development of projects targeting losses of specific copper minerals in defined size classes, unlocking significant value. This paper describes some of the early misconceptions around mineralogy at Kansanshi processing plant, outlining projects that have benefitted from understanding copper mineral distribution. Learnings from Kansanshi are to be applied at other FQM sites, with a similar mineralogy program being set up at the Cobre Panama project. INTRODUCTION The deposit Kansanshi Mine is located in the North Western Province of Zambia, and it has been the largest copper producer in Africa for over a decade. The deposit occurs within a broad northwest trending antiform that can be traced for 12 km, hosted in a zone of complicated faulting, abundant vein injection, breccia development and down-dropped rock units that lies within Kansanshi’s mining license. The copper mineralization within the deposit is predominantly vein-hosted, although some is strata-bound, occurring in thin bands and veinlets parallel to foliation, and some is disseminated associated with albite-carbonate alteration (Gray, 2015). Supergene enrichment has led to significant variety in the copper mineral speciation. This alteration is complex, and has not followed the text-book principles with a neat layer of supergene mineralization overlying fresh hypogene ore. Rather, the occurrence and extent of oxidation and supergene enrichment is highly irregular throughout the deposit, sometimes occurring at significant depth in localized pockets and along fault lines. Gold mineralization tends to follow the copper within the deposit, but it is dominated by coarse-grained, free-milling native gold. The extent of copper oxidation – measured as the fraction of total copper that assays as acid soluble – is used to classify ore into three main ore types, named Sulphide, Mixed, and Oxide, which are then fed to three different primary crushers for processing in independent circuits.

Automatic controls have long been a fact of technological life. Some understanding of control systems is rapidly becoming essential to the competence of mineral engineers. Students in undergraduate mineral engineering curricula, however, should not be expected to develop proficiency in the design and interpretation of control systems. They should be provided the opportunity to absorb some of the fundamental concepts and cant of such highly specialized peripheral fields as automatic controls. The present paper describes the components of a simple, flexible and relatively inexpensive control system designed primarily for the use of students in independent study projects. The control system is based on a continuous on-stream optical analyzer analogous to commercially available systems using X-Ray fluorescence analysis. The components can be easily adapted to control other separators and separations. As described here, they have been arranged to control the magnetic separation of a magnetite bearing specular hematite from quartz to produce a quartz product of fixed hematite content using a minimum of power. The control system consists of the magnetic separator* with a vibrating feeder, † a sampler, an optical scanner, a differential amplifier, a millivolt recorder ‡ and a motor driven, metered variable DC power supply for the separator electromagnet. An optional magnet current recorder is useful. The system as arranged for closed loop control is illustrated in Fig. 1. The elements of the loop are identified in automatic control jargon in Table I. "The huge urbanisation of the world cities have invariably resulted in enormous requirements of development in transport and other facilities. As the surface space available for the construction of these infrastructural facilities is found to be inadequate, underground space is widely used recently for this purpose. However, to understand the behaviour of these underground structures through experiments under various loading conditions is not practically feasible. Hence numerical methods have widely been used to model these structures and predict their behaviour. The underground structures generally rest on soil or rock. Depending upon the properties of the material surrounding the tunnel, the deformation pattern and the stress contours vary. If the tunnels are placed on soft ground at a shallow depth, the presence of existing structures will add to the stresses and strains developed. In the case of densely populated cities, tunnelling operation may result in huge damages if the settlements are not within the desirable limits. This may in turn lead to the collapse of the tunnel along with adjoining structures. So the determination of stress levels associated with the yield of wall due to excavation is very important and necessary supports and reinforcement should be provided. Numerical simulations using discrete element method (DEM) and finite element method (FEM) have been done to understand the stress variation around single and twin tunnels. Studies are also done to quantify the improvement of stability on the introduction of lining around the tunnels in a weak cemented soil mass like sandstone.INTRODUCTIONMost of the life line facilities which include pipelines for electricity, water, communication, sewage, gas, roads, metro, utility tunnels etc in modern urban areas are underground structures. Infrastructure development is crucial for any city and sustainable development urges for underground constructions. Accordingly, there is already a great demand for tunnels to be constructed in difficult and crowded urban settings. This results in the fact that a large number of risk factors are associated with tunnels in these densely populated urban areas. These constraints pose threats to tunnel construction and also demands for minimal disturbance to the public and to the surrounding utilities. One of the most important factor to be considered while designing an underground structure is its stability with respect to the surrounding medium and adjoining existing structures. In this study, a comprehensive presentation of the numerical modeling of single and twin tunnels adopting two different methods is presented."

Longwall mining which has a long history abroad, was used only on a limited scale in the United States until less than 20 years ago. Modern longwall mining in this country can be said to have begun in 1960 with the first installation of self-advancing props in a coal mine in southern West Virginia. In Europe, because of adverse natural conditions, longwall mining is frequently the only practical method, but, in the United States, the system has had to compete economically with highly productive room-and-pillar systems. However, because it is inherently continuous, it has greater productive potential than room-and-pillar systems, and, therefore, although only about 5% of the total U.S. underground production today is the result of the longwall system, its growth potential is great. As mining, by necessity, progresses deeper and must be done under poorer natural conditions, less opportunity will exist for the room- and-pillar system, and the longwall system will have to be used.

Seafloor massive sulfides (SMS) which contain Au, Ag, Cu, Zn, and Pb have been interested in as a target of commercial mining these 15 years. Japan has large potential of SMS and a national R&D project for the mining has been active these 5 years. However, the economy of SMS mining is very bad, because the waste tailing disposal cost is very expensive in Japan. A slurry flushing method is experimentally examined in this study for the improvement of the economy. During the flushing, because of density difference between the metal-rich ore and the waste rock, a kind of gravity separation is possible. The results suggest a possibility of the actual application.

The relationships describing the enhancement of permeability by firing explosives in boreholes have been derived and combined to yield permeability enhancement as, [ ] or the case in which the stress decays asymptotically as a power law kc and nc represent permeability and fracture density at the edge of the pulverized region near the cavity wall, f is a geometric attenuation factor, m is the dissipation due to real material effects, ko is the original permeability and rd is the scaled radius. This relationship has been compared with available measurements from the American nuclear shot "Hardhat", the French nuclear events in Hoggar granite and the chemical explosive shot in coal near Kemmerer, Wyoming. Significant correlation between this theory and the experimental measurement is observed. A comparison between single and multiple detonations shows that permeability enhancement falls off steeply near the shot; however enhancement can be considerable midway between two shots spaced 10 cavity radii apart. The degree to which enhancement, can be significant depends on material properties and fracture density. Porosity distribution from the explosive 1s the dominate parameter in permeability enhancement. Existing theories of permeability enhancement have also been reviewed.
