"Increasing demand and market economics have pushed the mining industry to adopt improved mining practices and minimize losses. Simulation, in this regard, has proved to be an efficient tool to help in decision making purposes. We present the development of a discrete event simulation model for a large-scale open pit mine to run experimental scenarios for near optimal decision making. A mixed integer linear goal programming (MILGP) optimization model is also presented for shovel allocation optimization. The mathematical model will be coupled with the simulation model at the dispatching stage for shovel allocation optimization and thus it will act as the link to optimal short-term schedule to assist in achieving better mine plan compliance across short-term and operational planning time horizons. The main contribution of this work so far is the development of the MILGP model and development, implementation and verification of the simulation model on a large scale oil sands open pit mine case study. The results obtained so far are promising and have been validated against the historical data of the mine, proving the applicability of the model for experimental scenario analysis. INTRODUCTION It is essential for mining operations to adopt efficient operational methods and technologies to cope with market demand and economics. Mining operations, on the other hand, being capital intensive, find it risky to bring in any changes. Simulation is a tool that can help in this regard for better decision making purposes with an improved and quantitative measure of confidence. A true representative model that satisfies the objectives set for the simulation is essential to achieve its applicability for decision making purposes. A similar simulation model is presented in this paper for analyzing the operational KPIs of a large scale oil sand open pit mine with truck-shovel operations. This paper is aimed at providing an overview of the development of the model and the statistical outcomes validating its applicability for experimental scenario runs and thus for better decision making purposes. A mixed integer linear goal programming (MILGP) optimization model is also presented in this paper that acts as an upper stage in a multi-stage dispatching system. The optimization model is proposed to be linked with the dispatching logic in the simulation for optimal shovel assignments and target productions by reading available mining faces directly from the short-term extraction schedule. This model is aimed at bridging the gap between operations and short term extraction schedule; and may help achieve better compliance between the two."

When a binary alloy is oxidized to form simultaneously an internal oxidation zone and an external scale which grows at a constant rate, the oxidation should reach a condition of steady shale, in which the internal oxidation zone is maintained at a time-independent thickness. Assuming an ideal model for the steady-state oxidation, the diffusion equation is solved for the steudy-state concentration profiles for oxygen and alloying- element in the metal. A theoretical prediction of' the steady-state thickness of the internal oxidation zone is made in terms of the experimental parameters. FOR the oxidation of binary alloys, Rhines, Johnson, and Anderson,1 as well as Mask: have derived equations describing the kinetics for the simultaneous formation of an internal oxidation zone and an external scale which was assumed to mow according to a parabolic rate law. Experimental determinations of internal oxidation zone thicknesses beneath a Cu2O scale for Cu-Be and Cu-A1 alloys3,4 have shown some deviation from Maak's theoretical expressions, because the ideal model assumed for the calculation is not met experimentally. Some pure metals, such as columbium and tantalum oxidize at elevated temperatures and high oxygen pressures to form nonprotec-tive external scales which thicken at a constant rate. If such a base metal is alloyed with a solute element which may form a more stable oxide than the solvent oxide, then internal oxidation of solute may occur beneath the growing external scale. A review of the internal oxidation of alloys has been published recently.5 The purpose of this paper is to analyze theoretically for a binary alloy the kinetics for the simultaneous formation of an internal oxidation zone and an external scale which grows at a constant rate. Consider an alloy A-B in which A is the more-noble solvent and B is the less-noble solute. The solute oxide is assumed to precipitate in internal oxidation as stoichiometric particles of BO, which are assumed to have a negligible solubility product in the A matrix. It is further assumed that the diffusion of oxygen through the zone of internal oxidation is not impeded by previously precipitated BO, particles. Automatic controls have long been a fact of technological life. Some understanding of control systems is rapidly becoming essential to the competence of mineral engineers. Students in undergraduate mineral engineering curricula, however, should not be expected to develop proficiency in the design and interpretation of control systems. They should be provided the opportunity to absorb some of the fundamental concepts and cant of such highly specialized peripheral fields as automatic controls. The present paper describes the components of a simple, flexible and relatively inexpensive control system designed primarily for the use of students in independent study projects. The control system is based on a continuous on-stream optical analyzer analogous to commercially available systems using X-Ray fluorescence analysis. The components can be easily adapted to control other separators and separations. As described here, they have been arranged to control the magnetic separation of a magnetite bearing specular hematite from quartz to produce a quartz product of fixed hematite content using a minimum of power. The control system consists of the magnetic separator* with a vibrating feeder, † a sampler, an optical scanner, a differential amplifier, a millivolt recorder ‡ and a motor driven, metered variable DC power supply for the separator electromagnet. An optional magnet current recorder is useful. The system as arranged for closed loop control is illustrated in Fig. 1. The elements of the loop are identified in automatic control jargon in Table I. Detailed structural studies in southeast Arizona have successively revealed (1) the local attitudes of individual fractures (with lateral and/or vertical displacements), (2) the patterns exhibited by groups of fractures, and (3) the trends and directions shown by fracture groups or zones on a regional scale. The results of the studies have been twofold: First, domes were locally determined from these fracture arrangements, even where other criteria failed; and, second, fundamental breaks brought out the breadth of the Texas lineament in southeast Arizona as well as major northwest- and northeast-trending fracture zones. Coincidence of one or several domes with the major intersections of fundamental breaks can be centers of important mineralization, as in the instances of Bisbee, Ajo and Morenci. THE OVER-ALL STRUCTURE OF ARIZONA A northwest-southeast trending anticlinorium has been suggested as the structural setting of Arizona. Starting in Triassic and culminating in late Cretaceous times, this deformation resulted from stresses of considerable magnitude with varying ratios of com pres sional and uplifting forces. However, the series of parallel flexures could just as well have been caused by isostatic movements involving dilation under tension with only incidental compression, as later emphasized by dike filling and block faulting (Fig. 1). The anticlinorial deformation, which is also suggested by the fact that the Pre-cambrian rocks to the southwest are all concealed by sediments, could be somewhat reminiscent of the conditions that affected the classical swarm of parallel dikes of wager.' ANALYSlS OF DATA As a first step in this analysis, all structural information obtained on such features as fractures and their relative displacements, faults, dikes, anticlines, synclines, and Precambrian and Laramide-Tertiary intrusives were plotted on maps along with structural trends inferred from aerial photographic mosaics. Next, the faults in southwest Arizona were classified according to time of occurrence and relative importance. The fault assemblages were then examined as to geometric or spatial arrangement and correlated with the occurrences of domes and existing Finally, the conjunction of fracture intersections and domes was analyzed and compared with locations of known ore deposits. Differentiation of Faults According to Time and Relative Importance: The faults encountered were grouped as follows: (1) Basin and Range faults, latest in time; (2) secondary faults; (3) primary faults; and (4) lineaments, earliest in time by inference. "The average heat requirement per barrel of crude refined in the United States rose from 579,000 B. t. u. in 1940 to 584,000 B. t. u. in 1941. This marked the second successive year in which there was an apparent loss in fuel efficiency at refineries. This ""loss"" took place despite an increase in crude runs, which used to be an invariable indicator of a lower average.Probably the chief factor in the increased heat requirement in 1941 was the gain in the over-all gasoline yield from 43.1 percent in 1940 to 44.2 percent in 1941. Possibly another important factor was the further use of obsolete equipment to increase throughput.The refiners used more of all kinds of fuel excapt coke in 1941 than in 1940. However, the only fuels which increased materially in relative importance were refinery gas, which contributed 51.6 percent of the total heat units in 1941 compared with 50.7 percent in 1940, and natural gas, the share of which rose from 17.1 percent in 1940 to 18.0 percent in 1941. The changes in the percentages for the other fuels were as follows: Oil decreased from 25.7 to 24.1 percent; acid sludge fell from 2.7 to 2.5; coal remained at 3.4 percent; and coke (including steam) fell from 0.5 to 0.4 percent.New records for fuel efficiency were set in all three of the districts east of the Mississippi, namely, East Coast, Appalachian, and Indiana, Illi¬nois, etc. All the ether districts reported higher average fuel requirements in 1941, except the Louisiana Gulf and Arkansas-Louisiana inland.Since the year of the first statistics, the refiners have steadily increased their purchases of electricity. In 1941 total purchases were 1,862,996,000 kilowatt-hours, or 11 percent more than in 1940."

Every step on the path from the mine to the smelter invites a comparison between material inputs on one side and outputs plus accumulation on the other. Or put simply, between what you think you have produced with what you find you have at hand. The discrepancy between these sets of comparisons is the error. Following that error in a systematic and objective manner is a way to improve the mineÆs measurement systems, that in turn leads to more accurate accounting for ores, metals and concentrates. Because the control of production is so tightly coupled with the accounting of materials, any lasting improvements in materials accounting will benefit the predictions of materials movements and quality. This translates to more reliable planning and scheduling in stockpile management, logistics, shipping and marketing. The statistical tools described are direct adaptations from the long-standing methods used to maintain the quality of manufactured product in the discrete parts industries. Their use in the process industries, of which mining is one, requires some care owing to the continuous nature of ore extraction and its variable properties. The tools can be used for problem diagnostics and as early warning systems. In common practice many professional staff, in attempting to get a perfect reconciliation between expected and observed results, try to explain away the error or bury it completely. The methodology advocated here requires a different mindset because the error must be given pre-eminence for lasting improvement to be realised.

The basic principles of mineral valuation were recognised and propounded at the beginning of this century and have remained virtually unchanged since then. Valuation is seen as a two part process commencing with a technical examination of the mineral property followed by a manipulation of the results of the technical examination in order to determine the monetary value of the project. A thorough and competent technical examination was seen then and remains now as the essential but not sufficient foundation for reliable valuation. All authors stressed the need to maintain the integrity of the data base and to ensure adequate coverage of all relevant aspects. The monetary valuation process through most of the first half of this century was mainly based on the Hoskold two rate method, derived from the formulae for valuing annuities but modified to provide explicitly for recovery of capital. Though the basic principles of valuation have not changed significantly, the means of implementing the components of the technical examination, the styles of deposits being evaluated and the mechanisms of monetary valuation have changed dramatically. Despite all the technological improvements, however, mineral valuations are still as apt to vary from realised performance as at any time in the past. As well, mineral property valuations are now being extended to cover all assets of potential value, including valuation of exploration tenements with or without identified resources. Valuation of exploration tenements will continue to be one of the most difficult and contentious of valuation tasks.

It is estimated that 6,202,235,000 gallons .of- gasoline was produced during the year 1922. The crude light oil- output Burin- the same year is estimated at 111,000,000 gallons, or 1.8 per cent of the gasoline production. In fact, if all the coal mined were coked in by-product ovens, and the light oil recovered therefrom, this product would amount to only 15 to 20 per cent of the quantity of the petroleum gasoline now produced annually. It is obvious therefore, from these figures that the light oils by present coking processes can not assume great importance as a gasoline substitute in a national sense. However, the use of light oil as a motor fuel is of real importance in districts adjacent to by-product coking operations from which a reasonable proportion of the local motor fuel supply may be derived. The certainty of diminution of petroleum resources in the relatively near future demands the utmost utilization of gasoline substitutes from the distillation of coal as well as other sources. Motor benzol is a by-product from the destructive distillation of coal. From 11/2 to 3 gallons of refined motor benzol is obtained per ton of coal carbonized. The light oil vapors are extracted from the by-product coke-oven gas by passing it upward through a series of towers in which these vapors are absorbed in a descending current of "wash" oil (petroleum distillate). The light, oil is recovered from this wash oil by distillation with live steam, the resulting crude light oil consisting of a mixture of benzol, toluol, xylol, solvent naphtha, and a small amount of other substances (unsaturated hydro-carbons, carbon disulphide, and other sulphur compounds, phenols and pyridines) is then transferred to an intermittent still and fractionated into crude motor benzol, which includes the toluol and a part of the xylol or light solvent naphtha. The crude, motor benzol is yellow in color, contains sulphur compounds which corrode copper and brass, and also contains unsaturated bodies which oxidize and polymerize on standing, producing sediment and forming gummy deposits highly objectionable when the benzol is used in motors. OBJECT THE experiments herein described were undertaken with a view to investigating thoroughly the influence of carbon on the tensile and impact physical properties of carbon steel. The original comprehensive plan included investigation of a series of steels with varying carbon contents over a wide range of heat treatments. These were to be studied as to their static tensile qualities, and also their resistance to shock as measured by the Charpy impact bending test. A thorough metallographic examination was likewise included in the schedule. The Charpy tests and the metallographic examination have not been completed to date, and are accordingly withheld for another report. All heat treatments, however, have been made, and the static tensile tests have been completed. A description of the procedure of the experiment and the results thus far obtained are therefore reported herein. CONCLUSIONS No attempt is made to draw general conclusions from these experiments, but the curves and the data are submitted as being of general importance and wide applicability.

RECENTLY the producing branch of the petroleum industry has shown a considerable and growing interest in the quantitative determination of the water, oil, and gas content of cores as it relates to estimation of reserves, to providing a, basis for judging as to the feasibility of applying various secondary-recovery and pressure-maintenance processes, and in general to the operation of producing properties. For years it has been known that oil, gas and water coexisted in the pores of many semidepleted oil measures. It is now generally believed that oil-bearing beds contain connate water in amounts varying up to 50 per cent of the pore space. However, only lately has reliable direct evidence of the extensive occur-rence of connate water in oil sands been published. Very little work has been done to ascertain the effect of this water on the productivity and ultimate recovery of oil from wells. It was the intent of this research to study the influence of this indigenous water on the flow of oil through unconsolidated sands, with the hope that the results could be applied qualitatively to the flow of oil in underground reservoirs partly saturated with water. Obviously, ultimate recovery estimates based on the void volume of the reservoir will be in error unless a, conscious or unconscious correction is made for the volume of water occupying a portion of the effective pore volume of the reservoir- Evaluation engineers in the past have applied arbitrary saturation and recovery factors that may inadverently have compensated for the failure to consider specifically the water content. Nevertheless, the evidence available indicates that these factors need revising if each is to be independently correct and truly representative. Although the mere fact that the connate water renders part of the pore volume of the reservoir incapable of containing oil is of primary importance to the operator, it is also of interest to know whether and to what extent the presence of varying amounts of interstitial water influ-ences the permeability of the sand to oil.

"After several successful projects on the Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike for support of single-stage MSE (Mechanically Stabilized Earth) walls using rigid inclusions (Controlled Modulus Columns) as an alternate to two-stage MSE walls and surcharge, the Bass River Bridge Widening project presented additional challenges in terms of soil conditions and height of embankment that created opportunities for the design-build ground improvement contractor and its MSE wall-designing partner to enhance their design and construction methods. The specialist contractor decided, in association with the wall system supplier, to perform an independent large scale instrumented test area on the project to demonstrate the ability of the design techniques to model the behavior of the system, as well as the capacity of the rigid inclusions to provide the necessary bearing capacity and settlement control to allow the construction of the highway without any consolidation period. This paper presents a detailed description of the design of the ground improvement system and MSE wall system, as well as the results and conclusions of the monitoring data gathered on the large scale test program. The combination of rigid inclusion ground improvement technologies, such as the CMC system, together with an MSE wall system allows for the rapid and economical construction of high embankment without waiting for a surcharge and consolidation period or the necessity to use a two-stage wall system. In-depth understanding of the design techniques and advantages of this combination will be provided and should be beneficial for any geotechnical engineer or owner looking for innovative solutions to save both time and cost on their projects.1. IntroductionAs development continues on sites with poor ground conditions throughout the world, conventional MSE walls remain a flexible design solution; however, construction of MSE walls in combination with ground improvement is becoming more frequent where extreme differential and/or total settlement prevail due to soft ground conditions. Various techniques have been used in the past in such conditions (e.g. conventional surcharge, staged construction, or two-stage MSE walls), even though these design solutions have typically involved longer waiting times for settlement to occur. As a result, conventional MSE wall design has been combined with a variety of ground improvement techniques consisting of rigid inclusions for an economical and efficient solution with the potential to accelerate construction and limit long term settlement. For the particular subject of this paper, the specialist contractor (Menard) proposed to use CMCs (Controlled Modulus Columns) to support the highest part of the MSE wall. CMCs are grouted displacement rigid inclusions installed in a grid-like pattern using a displacement auger. Before the CMCs are installed, a working platform may first need to be placed to allow equipment to move around the site depending on the ground conditions. Following the CMC ground improvement, an LTP (Load Transfer Platform) is installed prior to the construction of the MSE wall."

IT is most remarkable and valuable property of mediurn and high carbon steels that they should be so susceptible to heat treatment, the wide range of variability in tenacity, ductility, etc, due to the normal influence of the carbon in the untreated material being enormously inereased thereby.The physical properties of steel and other metals are much more closely related to their structure than to their ultimate analysis.For instance, we may by chemical analysis determine the carbon content of a steel to be 0.5% ; but this information alone is insufficient to enable us to say what are the physical properties of the metal.Such a steel may possess 11 tensile strength of anything from 35 tons per sq. in., with much ductility, up to 80 tons per sq. in., with practically no ductility, according to its heat treatment. A microscopie examination, on the other hand, would show the structural composition of the steel, from which its physical properties could be approximately deduced. "High carbon rods are typically used as the grinding media in rod mills. Usually an AISI I 090 grade of steel is used which provides the high hardness needed for abrasion resistance and sufficient toughness to prevent rod breakage.Work to improve performance in the past has mainly concentrated on increasing the hardness for improved abrasion resistance. This has been accomplished by adding alloys to the steel which uniformly increase the hardness across the rod section.However uniformly increasing the hardness of the rod produces a more brittle product and at high hardness l1evels can lead to rod breakage problems. Heat treatment processes can be used to selectively increase the surface hardness to high levels while maintaining the core at lower hardness levels to give a product that wears slower without breakage. AltaSteel has developed and mill tested a higher hardness heat treated grinding rodThis paper describes the development of a simple model to predict performance improvement with different hardness profiles and the AltaSteel heat-treated grinding rod process. Mill characteristics of the Endako operation are summarized and predicted performance improvements based on hardmess are compared to the approximate 25% achieved in trials running since July, 1991 at this mill. Early results of other mill trials are also presented.INTRODUCTIONAltaSteel, in Edmonton is a major supplier of grinding media. We have a strong desire to continually increase the quality and performance of our products and thereby improve the efficiency of our customers' processes. In the area of grinding rods, we wanted to produce a product with a significant improvement in wear rate. Second to energy, rod consumption usually represents the next highest cost in processing. As deeper seams are continually mined, methane liberation will continue to increase and must be monitored effectively. To effectively monitor and develop appropriate control technology, methane-liberation patterns must be known. The Bureau of Mines recently completed a study to identify specific patterns of face methane liberation during long- wall mining. Both of the longwall faces surveyed had high methane liberation rates. At one longwall face, most of the methane was liberated during cutting of coal by the shearer mining machine. At the second face, a significant portion of methane was emitted from the face and floor. An effective methane-monitoring system would be different for each longwall panel because of the differences in how the gas is released along the face.

INTRODUCTION Conventional roof support methods such as mechanical and resin bolting provide adequate support for a wide variety of coal mine roof conditions. However, roof falls remain the single largest cause of death and injury in underground mines and seriously hamper production in many operations, demonstrating that these methods of roof support are not universally effective. One of the most recent and successful advances in coal mine roof control has been the introduction of the roof truss. Although past work on roof trusses (Gambrel1 and Haynes, 1970; Sheory, et al, 1973) shows little quantification of this support technique, numerous field examples have been cited where the truss effectively supported roof which could not be controlled by either mechanical or resin bolts (Kegel, 1969). The truss combines the advantages of both inclined roof bolts and post-stressing the roof. However, the full benefits of roof trusses will only be realized when design criteria to optimize support capacity are determined. The number of trusses required for a given roof condition can then be minimized, reducing installation time and making them economically more feasible. The purpose of this research is to develop roof truss design criteria based initially on laboratory studies of gravity-loaded multi-layered photoelastic mine models. Laboratory test results will then be modified where necessary following future field testing. The ensuing relationships should provide the field engineer with a reliable means of calculating optimum truss configuration, capacity, and spacing for a set of known roof conditions.

The use of standard dense-media cyclones is well known, as they have been in use for many years. They are especially well suited for operating at low separating densities and for treating difficult coals containing a high percentage of near-gravity at the point of separation. Very few modifications of the basic design have ever been made. The author recently, however, has been interested in the development of a new type of dense-media cyclone that has been produced in Japan. He has observed the testing of this unit and has collected much data which he feels should be of considerable interest to coal preparation engineers. He feels that this unit, called the Swirl Cyclone, may be of substantial value as an alternate to the standard cyclones. It is certainly worthy of further investigation. There has been relatively little written in English-language publications on the Swirl Cyclone. It was briefly described at the Fifth International Coal Preparation Congress. MINERALS INFORMATION PROGRAM Mineral data collection by the Federal Government actually began in 1882 with an appropriation by Congress to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Although the Bureau of Mines was instituted in 1910, it was not until 1924 that the collection, interpretation, and dissemination of worldwide information on production, consumption, and availability of minerals became the responsibility of the Bureau. The objective of the Bureau's minerals information program is to maintain and provide reliable, timely, and comprehensive data for analysis of national minerals problems. This program is implemented by a staff of specialists who cover about 100 mineral commodities and the mineral industries of 168 countries. Data are also provided on the minerals industry on the State and county level. The specialists analyze information to identify trends and problems, forecast future U.S. and world supply and demand for the nonfuel minerals, and relate trends and developments to their impact on the domestic minerals industry. Data Sources and Publications The primary sources of data concerning the domestic minerals industry are the companies that produce, use, and trade in these minerals. Approximately 60,000 survey forms are sent to industry, on a monthly, quarterly, semiannual, or annual basis, to obtain the data. Domestic trade data are provided by the Bureau of the Census, U.S. Department of Commerce. Information on mineral developments abroad is developed by Bureau specialists from mineral reports supplied by U.S. embassies worldwide, from primary source documents, from a review of the technical mining literature, and from onsite mine and plant visits in foreign countries. The information is disseminated through a number of Bureau publications: "Mineral Industry Surveys" provide aggregated data on a monthly. quarterly, or semiannual basis to give timely information on the most important mineral commodities. "Mineral Commodity Summaries," published each January, provides preliminary annual data on supply and demand and discusses significant events of the previous year. The final data are published later in the "Minerals Yearbook," which is the definitive historical record for mineral statistics. "Mineral Facts and Problems," an encyclopedic work issued every 5 years, covers industry structure, technology, supply-demand analysis. economic factors, reserves, and forecasts of U.S. and world demand for individual commodities. "Mineral Perspectives" and "Mineral Issues" cover important international mineral developments and significant issues of current U.S. policy as they relate to minerals. Discussions and analyses of mineral trends and developments also appear in other Bureau publications, such as "Minerals and Materials" and "Information Circulars." These publications provide the basis for analysis and policy determinations by the Bureau and by virtually every Federal agency concerned with minerals, defense issues, the national economy, and foreign relations. The data are also used by industry in planning capital investments in mines and processing plants, by financial analysts, by U.S. delegations in their work with international commodity groups, and by a host of other minerals related organizations. Data Bases The data bases used by the specialists for preparing publications or in response to a continuous stream of inquiries include both those that contain individual commodity data from respondents, and those that are summary data bases on production, trade, capacity, employment and a number of other minerals-related items, not all of which are derived from data reported to the Bureau of Mines. The data bases maintained on the mainframes are not accessible by non- Bureau users. The Pittsburgh Research Laboratory of NIOSH conducted research to determine the safe operating conditions for using recycled (used) lubricating oil from mining equipment as a partial replacement for diesel fuel to make ANFO-type blasting agents. The use of recycled oil (RO) conserves energy, reduces oil imports, and reduces mining costs. Since RO has a variable composition, there was concern that the additives/impurities it contains may cause ANFO made with RO to be unstable (as compared to regular ANFO) at high summer ambient storage temperatures. Reactivity of RO with zinc was also a concern. Thermal stability tests were conducted to help quantify and resolve these issues. ANFO mixtures (0.66 lb/300 g) were put into sample containers made of steel, stainless steel, and galvanized (zinc coated) steel pipe fittings, which were heated in isothermal ovens. The experimental parameters were temperature settings of 140° F (60° C) and 176° F (80° C), four sample container (pipe fitting) metal combinations, and nominal heating periods of one and three days. The ANFO samples contained 6% each of the following twelve different oils/oil mixtures: No. 1 was diesel fuel, Nos. 2 thru 6 were five candidate oils (2 thru 5 were used oils and 6 was a new synthetic oil), No. 7 was 5% diesel fuel + 1 % graphite, and Nos. 8 thru 12 were 3% diesel fuel + 3% each of the five candidate oils. All samples showed no reactivity when heated at 140° F (60°C). All samples (except No. 7) reacted at 176° F (80° C) in a steel pipe with galvanized caps as follows: No. I reacted most, Nos. 8-12 reacted moderately, and Nos. 2-6 reacted least. All ANFO samples were tested and found not to be cap sensitive.
